Happy Sunday! I hope everyone that is in the USA had a good time yesterday celebrating our Nations Independence. My Oldest Son, Jesse invited Russ and I to go to the movies to see Transformers 2. Great Flick!
I’m a gamer so I am looking forward to picking up the Xbox 360 game as well. Oh, I guess I have let the cat out of the bag. Now you really do think I am crazy. I am getting hooked on RPG (Real Play Games). I now have 3 game systems, Xbox 360, Wii and a Nintendo DS for when I travel, lol. My sons that are in their upper 20’s say it is pretty bad when their mother has more games to chose from then they do. Anyway gaming keeps me off the streets at night, along with stamping that is. It is also funny when I go to the game store. They always tell me what the games are rated, assuming I am purchasing them for someone much younger than myself. My current favorite RPG is Fable 2, love that game! How did I get on this Tongan? Enough of me babbling about something that has nothing to do with why you read my post, which is stamping, so let’s get to the tutorial.
Today’s tutorial shows a paring of using Stampin’ Up’s Upsy Daisy and Thoughts & Prayers stamp sets. These stamp sets work very well together with a bit of a brayered background. I also extended the scene a bit onto one of my background panels. 🙂
Supplies:

Paper: Stampin’ Up Whisper White, Bashful Blue & Basic Black |

Brayered Old Olive at the bottom of a 4″ x 5.5″ piece of Whisper White card stock.
Brayered Bashful Blue at the top of the card stock.
Brayered Not Quite Navy ink at the very top of the card stock, not covering the Bashful Blue ink entirely.
Riped a post it note in the same of a mountain and used it as a mask while I sponged Bashful Blue ink at the post it note edge to create the mountain on the card stock.
Moved the mask and put in a second mountain by sponging Not Quite Navy at the post it notes edge.
Removed the mask and stamped the tree on the right hand side of the card stock by first loading the stamp with Old Olive ink and then patting my black ink pad on the trunk portion of the stamp before stamping it.
Stamped the flowers with black ink.
Added White Gel Pen highlights to the tops of the flowers and the left side of the tree trunk.
Sponged Old Olive ink at the base of the tree trunk to create a shadow casted by the tree.
On a Bashful Blue card stock panel, brayered Not Quite Navy ink at the top of the card stock and Old Olive ink at the bottom of the card stock.
Used the same mountain Post it Note mask to extend the mountain onto the background panel by sponging a bit of Not quite Navy ink at the post it notes edge.
Assembled my card and added a few silver brads. Here it is finished measuring 5″ x 6.5″.
May the beautiful scenes in your life be extended two fold!
Until my next post. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .
Huge Hugs,
Michelle
