My favorite notes have been notes (and they were short notes… lol) that my husband sent me while he was away at Basic Training. He wasn’t able to write often and when he was able to write he never had much time, so the fact that he wrote at all made me so happy. My favorite was the one where he said (I’m copying it here… lol)

“Yes I do remember you sneaking over and all the secret calls and emails and exciting as all that was, I’m glad I can tell anyone I want that you’re my wife and I love you more than any man ever loved a woman. No matter what happens you can be certain that is true, and even if I get deployed we will be together in the end and we will be happy. That is a promise.”

I cried and cried when I got that letter. I am the luckiest woman I think.

I have notes all over! I love the notes from my husband so very much BUT some of the favorite notes I’ve gotten have been from the kids at different points in their lives. From the hard to read 6 year old handwriting to the text from my 18 year old in college. “Love you Mom”. I always smile when I think of those notes.
Hope you had a great trip.

  3. Lisa Lynneon 07 Nov 2009 at 8:54 am

My husband and I trade notes all the time since we are very different schedules - my favorite ones are the ones that simply say “I love you”.

  4. Laura F.on 07 Nov 2009 at 8:57 am

My favorite notes don’t last long. We keep a dry erase marker in our upstairs bathroom. Since my husband and I work such different shifts, we often don’t even see each other in the morning, so we leave each other notes. Sometimes it’s just “pick up more paper towels at the grocery store” but other times it’s “I miss you, I love you!” those ones are the best!

I love this set, and never got it for myself, so thanks for sharing yours!

  5. stampersuzzon 07 Nov 2009 at 9:18 am

I have gotten several wonderful notes from my kids over time. I keep them all as they are written with love!

  6. Jennifer Blankon 07 Nov 2009 at 9:18 am

I live on notes. Notes to self and others. My favorite are note sets that I can make for others. My secret pal always gets notes of some kind throughout the year.

  7. MJon 07 Nov 2009 at 9:34 am

Every so often, I’ll include a note in my DS’s lunch box… A simple post-it with a “Love ya!” or “Good luck on the test” etc. I’m taking advantage of this now while he’s still young enough to appreciate and enjoy it, rather than when he’s older and may be embarassed by the lovey-dovey notes I send.

  8. sandyh50on 07 Nov 2009 at 9:40 am

I love the notes that I receive from my grandkids! They usually include a sweet drawing and they make my day. I once saw a Christmas letter from a busy single mom that was just notes beween her kids and herself. They were hilarious and made such a fun Christmas letter of what life was like in their house this past year! Have fun in OK and drive carefully.

My favorite notes are ones sent to me by my kids when they were little. I just love them. THanks for the chance to win.

My (long distance) boyfriend works in a lab as a biochemist. He tried all summer to get an experiment to work and failed..and failed..and failed. Earlier this year he finally got it! I sent him a note in the mail with Beeker on it (from the muppets). It was adorable and he loved it!

  11. LaNellon 07 Nov 2009 at 9:48 am

My favorite notes are those that come from my 80 year old mother. She loves to write all the details of her busy life. I will cherish those for a long time to come.

  12. Jillon 07 Nov 2009 at 10:17 am

I love to send little love notes to my husband and daughter, I randomly tuck them in their lunch box. My 10yr DD said her friends gather round at lunch to see if there is a note :-)

  13. Ruth Nortonon 07 Nov 2009 at 10:19 am

I have loved this set and have still not gotten it yet-can you believe it!!
I love to send little notes. Some of my favorite ones have been the most recent ones. They were 3 different ones that I ‘hid’ in my husbands luggage before his business trip. He left Wednesday and gets back Monday. But I also have about 4 on my desk ready to be mailed to friends, but those don’t count since they haven’t been mailed..yet!
    Have a great trip!

On his 75th birthday, many years ago, I sent my father in law a letter telling him what he meant to me. He was very moved and he cried. I was so upset that he cried but glad the note was special for him. He was a very wonderful person.

My most favourite note I ever received was from my husband over 21 years ago which I still have. In that note he told me how much he loved me and that he wanted to spend the rest of his life showing me how much and you know he does every single day. At the time we had been married two months lol. But he has never wavered or changed his opinion and occasionally I pull out the note and get all mushy about it all over again hehe. Gosh that reminds me I should get it out cause it has been a while since I read it.
    Regards
    Michelle

I used to put notes into my kids lunches, silly stuff, quotes - what ever I thought about at 1 in the morning before I went to bed - I don’t have a favorite note, but it did make me feel good when I found a pile of the notes tucked away in a school backpack years later.
    Hope you are having fun!

  17. Heatheron 07 Nov 2009 at 10:51 am

My favorite notes are the ones my daughters write to me. Usually just a few lines long, they tell me they love me and miss me when I’m gone. Bittersweet.

  18. Deborah Whitlowon 07 Nov 2009 at 11:07 am

I’m always getting notes from one of my dear stampin’ friends. She’s always making me cards and sending them to me and they are so uplifiting. She’s a wonderful friend.

My favorite notes will always be the ones I left my kids in their sack lunches. The best one I received was from my kids when I went on a trip to D.C. They both wrote I miss you & love you & stuck it in my suitcase. I still tear up when I think about it!

  20. Wendy Swenneon 07 Nov 2009 at 11:11 am

my favorite notes are the one the kids from my work make for me. Combined with cute colored images.

  21. Kathryn Robertson 07 Nov 2009 at 11:12 am

The most adorable note was one that my daughter left for me and my husband for our 21st anniversary . She stamped and cut out and glued stuff on the front of the card….a real keeper - it was so special for her to make us a card.

  22. Danielleon 07 Nov 2009 at 11:12 am

I don’t ever remember seeing this set and I’m not sure how I missed it.. It’s very cute.

Favorite notes? I am one of those people that sends a note just to make someone smile, no other reason, a just because. I think I send them much more than receiving them, but when one of those random thinking of you’s arrives it warms my heart!

Thank you for all you do!

I like any nice note—my DH leaves me one on my coffee cup sometimes–very nice! TY for the chance to win.

a love the notes that my dad used to leave my mother telling her he had gone somewhere, usually fishing, but always adding that he loved her. I found these little notes from him in her Bible, in books, in drawers, that she had kept over the years. Now, I treasure them for the 65 happy years they shared.

  27. Betty aka ZacksNanaon 07 Nov 2009 at 11:15 am

My favorite notes were of course little love letters from my then boyfriend now hubs.
I worked 5 days a week in a day care facility for children age 2 weeks to 9 years. MY ag group to take care of was the 2 weeks to toddler ages. Which, can be a very stressful job. One day in particular one of my charges learned she could climb out of her crib (during nap time, when all the babies & toddlers are usually asleep). She proceeded to swap diaper bag items with her room mates. By the time I got off work that evening I was both brained fried and body exhausted. But there on my windshield tucked under my windshield wiper was a little slip of paper. Which when opened simply said, “I miss you. I love you. Can’t wait till you get off work!”

At that moment all the baggage of the day was lifted and I too “missed him”. “loved him” and I was happy to be off work so I could see him. He wrote me many such notes over the 6 months period we dated. I still have most of them.

That’s my story and I am sticking too it.

  29. linda pattion 07 Nov 2009 at 11:16 am

my favorite note is the one i just received from my daughter, who recently became a mom, making me a grandmother for the first time. it was a very sweet (long) thank you, listing all the things she and my son in law were thankful for that i did for them when i spent a month helping them when my granddaughter was born. I enjoyed every minute I was able to spend with them! :-)

  30. Judy Jacksonon 07 Nov 2009 at 11:16 am

One of my precious notes is one that my duaghter wrote to her Dad and me when she was in college. she was traveling with a summer ministries team from her Christian college. The team went to different teen camps and churches. She wrote an appreciative note thanking us for being her parents and giving her the care and counsel she often needed — as all kids do! She was working with teens who had enormous problems and she found herself grateful for her parents. I still have the note today — and she is now married and a mother of a one year old.

I remember leaving notes for the boys. Their response, “Mom please don’t leave notes anymore, so embarrassing”. That’s boys.

    thanks much

in this age of cell phones, email, and text messages, I value any few words that actually come to me in the form of a handwritten note, that’s why I like stamping….real paper and ink!

  34. cheryl l.on 07 Nov 2009 at 11:19 am

My current note thing is sending a friend in TN notes of encouragement. She’s dealing with several issues right now and her life is in turmoil…I can’t be there to give her a hug, but I can send my hugs in my notes.

  35. Linda LaCroneon 07 Nov 2009 at 11:19 am

I enjoy writing notes family, friends, and coworkers. Using my created SU cards to include messages are a bonus. Looking at their expression when they read the notes is priceless.

    Thanks much.

My favorite note is from my Grandmother. She sent it along time ago with a birthday card. I keep it in a meditation book and read it once in a while. She has been gone from earth for nine years. So nice to have a hand written note from our loved ones to remember them by.

  38. Helenon 07 Nov 2009 at 11:22 am

I am a one year survivor of Breast Cancer. During my darkest days, my husband would leave me notes of encouragement, like, “Lean on me.” ” I love you, hair or no hair, breast or no breast. I will always be here of you.” ” Next year at this time we will be…………” My sons would leave me notes: “Mom, it’s me, Eric. I luv u” Notes can be the brightest part of the day.

  42. Louiseon 07 Nov 2009 at 11:25 am

I love notes…..my favs are the ones my DH writes in the morning before leaving for work. He leaves early, before I’m up….. Just to say I love you!!!

  43. Jeanetteon 07 Nov 2009 at 11:25 am

Our family members often leave notes for one another. We commonly leave notes saying, “I’ve gone to ____. Will be back later.” In fact, when our kids were teenagers they were expected to do so if they left while we were not home, so we often found little handwritten notes. However, I think my favorite note was the one my DS left for me typed on my computer screen…. I guess he knew I’d soon find it since I spend so much time here on the computer. LOL!

  44. Dina Carrollon 07 Nov 2009 at 11:26 am

A friend of mine from out of state, is very good at sending letters, birthday cards and thank you notes. She puts me to shame, yes me the card maker! Anyway, each of her letters and notes have just the right words, she always seems to know just what to say and she does it with beautiful and consistent handwriting. I think my hand writing is what holds me back from sending out more cards, I always fear I will ruin what I just created by screwing up what I want to write. Thanks for the chance to win the set, I promise I’ll send that very friends some notes made with this set, if i win it!

    Dina

I use notes for everything. I love leaving little notes here and there for my family for encouragement, love, and just for them to have a good day. I love making note cards for my family and friends too. Thanks for a chance at this awesome stamp set. Have a fabulous class.

I love sending handmade cards/notes to my SIL in TN. We don’t get to see each other very often and she appreciates my cards more than any person I know. Thanks for giving away the set, it looks terrific!

  47. Denise~Paper Ponderingson 07 Nov 2009 at 11:29 am

My favorite note I’ve sent…probably the little notes I sometimes put in hubby’s and daughter’s lunches that just let them know I’m thinking about them and love them.

Love your blog candy, it always make it feel special that you offer us a chance to win something…

  49. Kay Singletonon 07 Nov 2009 at 11:29 am

These notes are much better than post its! So much more attractive. Of course the older I get…the more notes I need to remind me of things.

  50. Maryon 07 Nov 2009 at 11:34 am

One of my favorite notes was an email from my niece and nephew. They were too young to type or write, so they told my sister what they wanted to say. It’s was the cutest email I ever got…I still have it…many years later! Thanks for the chance to win!

  51. Sheila Don 07 Nov 2009 at 11:34 am

My favorite note (that I will keep forever) is a note from my nephew who was 8 at the time. He’s an avid Red Sox fan and loved Johnny Damon. When Damon left the Red Sox to go to the Yankees he was so mad. The note had only 3 words on it and was in giant bold letters. It read “JOHNNY DAMON SUCKS”. His mother also found his Red Sox Johnny Damon T-shirt I bought him at a game in the trash. I still chuckle when I think of it.

  52. Lizaon 07 Nov 2009 at 11:36 am

Notes… stopping for just a moment in time to think of someone special and let them know how blessed we are, because of what that person means in your life. I loving send quick, short notes to my girlfriends, kids, and my loving husband. This set would be a perfec way to combine 2 loves - stamping and telling others what they mean to me!

  53. sheila lowryon 07 Nov 2009 at 11:37 am

Hi Michelle, My favorites are from my son when he was in Iraq. He is a Marine, and he didn’t write often, but i waited anxiously everyday to hear from him. When I did it was always filled with love and emotion. Thank God for our military men and women!
    Sheila

  54. Meg Fon 07 Nov 2009 at 11:37 am

My favorite notes actually came attached to bouquets of flowers. On my 25th anniversary, my husband gave me two bouquets of roses - one with a note that said Thanks for the wonderful 25 years of marriage that we have had. The second note said, this is for the next 25 years that I will spend with you. Brought tears to my eyes!

  55. Catherine Krafton 07 Nov 2009 at 11:37 am

My favorite notes were the notes I received from my husband when he was in Saudia and then the year he was in Korea, but my favorite of all was when he was stationed in The Netherlands and he asked me to marry him. There were many notes before he came home to marry me and we ended up living in The Netherlands 6 1/2 years. This Thanksgiving we will be married 21 years. This stamp set could be used in so many ways…………

  58. Janeyon 07 Nov 2009 at 11:40 am

Little notes are the most important notes! When I started teaching (I am a late bloomer!) my daughters were attending the same high school where I was teaching. Not cool! However, as much as I was ‘ignored’ during the school day, I would daily find love notes from the girls - in the car, in my grade book, clipped to a page in a textbook, etc. My family was so supportive of my new career and those notes gave me a daily lift to help with the transition. The girls tell me today that those notes were pay-back for all the notes I would tuck into their lunches while in grade school - whatever the reason, I appreciated the notes during that beginning of my teaching career and the closeness we have today!

  59. Lucy-Gail Garcia-Hensonon 07 Nov 2009 at 11:40 am

My favorite notes are the ones my husband leaves in a lunch he’s packed or a note left in the car, often with flowers for me to find in the morning when I am going to work.

  60. patricia farmeron 07 Nov 2009 at 11:40 am

My favorite note was one from my daughter that was written when she was around six. I loved to have her sound out her words rather than me spelling them for her. I received a note from her that took me a week to decipher because she insisted I sound out the words as she wrote them. I still have the note. She is 39 years old now.

  61. Yvonneon 07 Nov 2009 at 11:41 am

over 40 years ago I wrote a note to my dad:
    I owe you 10 cents….
when he died in 2002 he still had that note in his wallet…

  62. Gail R.on 07 Nov 2009 at 11:41 am

Notes that my daughter would leave me when she was a little girl…..and notes that my mom sent to me while I was in college.

  63. Vickion 07 Nov 2009 at 11:42 am

After my dad died last year, we had to move my mom out of her home into an assisted living facility closer to my home. In the process of cleaning out her house, I found boxes and boxes of note my mom had written to herself. This was a lifetime habit for her, starting when she jotted down recipes she saw prepared on tv or a good idea on a decorating show. The note taking habit became a necessity as she aged and developed dementia. We found notes with all her brothers and sisters names written on it as she was afraid she would forget them.
I kept a good deal of these notes and for bittersweet reasons, they have become my favorites.

  64. Susie L.on 07 Nov 2009 at 11:42 am

After my DH lost a job he had worked at 41 years. he learned to drive an 18 wheeler, so he was always gone all week. I would hide notes in different places in his luggage to find at different times to let him know I was thinking of him, now he has another job and after 51 years of marriage I still write a “love ya” note to him, and he still calls me “His little Bride”.

  65. Robin Boyeron 07 Nov 2009 at 11:42 am

    Hello,
Thanks for a chance to win. I recall two incidents. Once was a lipstick note on the bathroom mirror when I was married.
And the others are the notes my nieces wrote to me when I would wake in the morning along with the pictures they had drawn.

    Rubber Hugs,
    Robin

    Hello Michelle

Have a great time in Oklahoma :)

We here in Barrie, Ontario are having a beautiful fall day so, after a long walk with my puppy, I will be heading to my craft room to make a few cards.

Again, many thanks for all your e-mails with inspirational cards, fantastic instructions, and ‘blog candy’.

  68. Terri Michaelson 07 Nov 2009 at 11:44 am

I received my favorite note from my 22 year old son this last Mother’s Day. He didn’t have money to buy a mother’s day gift so he drew a picture of a young man running away and wrote “I know if I run away or come back home. That no matter how far I go… You will always be with me no matter what may happen, because you’re my mother and I love you. Happy Mother’s Day” I have told him he will have trouble topping this one in the years to come.

    Hi!
The best notes that I recieve in my E-mails are from a high school firend, who has terminal cancer. She is always up beat and sees the good in everything and can still laugh..after all she is been threw. She sends me the neatest funny and then ones which really make you think about life–in a good way. God has blessed her to help her stay positive! She never says anything negative– this has been over 25 years now. It has help her get passed how she really feels. I send her stamped images that she can color in with color pencils and water color markers when she goes for her Chemo treatments. So, I would love to send her something new. Plus she makes little note cards etc. for the nurses that help in her care.
Keep up the good work Michelle — as I love your site!

  70. Anne Don 07 Nov 2009 at 11:44 am

My favorite note is one that I received from my Mom. I tucked it away and then it became more special because she died shortly after that at the age of 58.

  71. Peggy Whitlowon 07 Nov 2009 at 11:46 am

The most precious person in my life is my husband. For all his unselfishness and love for me I love to send him thank you notes which I feel that what I say in those notes could not ever express in words my thankfulness for him.
    Sincerely,
    Peggy

My hubby and I were high school sweethearts. During the high school and college years, we sent many notes and letters. I have saved most of them and love to see the love we now share as a result of those early correspondences.

My favorite notes are the ones from my grandchildren. My grandson, age 13, while visiting us in the summer left me an especially cute one. He took a self portriat of himself in the mirror #1 was I, #2 picture of heart drawn on paper & #3 picturing of himself pointing. Kids are truly inegnious and special!

When I started a new job 25 years ago, my husband drove 17 miles to put a note on my windshield telling me he hoped my first day was wonderful and that he loved me. He never came in, just drove down, put it on my windshield and left. I have never forgotten that note and in fact, still have it.

I recently sent a note to 2 ladies that hosted a business luncheon for our executive assitant group. I chose cards I had made that reminded me of them. I received an email note back thanking me for the cards! A thank you note for a thank you note is pretty fantastic!

I have two favorite notes from two friends. One was for my real birthday two years ago (I’m a leap year baby). My friend, Katie, is a certified pergamano trainer and makes these beautiful gorgeous cards for people’s extra special occassions. She made one for me. It’s so beautiful that I put it in a silver frame to preserve it over time. My other favorite note was from another friend, Vicky, that I admire her talent so much. She made me a card when my dad passed away a little over two and a half years ago. When I look at the outdoor scene on the card I see my dad as he is fishing and looking around him at the beauty nature has to offer. The card was so beautiful I just had to put it in a frame. I have them both in my stamp room and see them every day. They remind me of their precious freindships.

Ohhhh. I love to write notes! I think my favorites were the ones I wrote a couple of months after I’d met my (now) husband. He had to be away for 2 weeks with the National Guard. I wrote different notes for him to open every day. Some were just thoughts about how he made me feel — some contained my favorite poems. It was silly; I was so romantic…but I knew he was the one I wanted to spend the rest of my life with. 14 great, fun years and counting!

I looked long and hard at this set — just didn’t get it. Thanks for offering though!

I’ve had this set on my wish list for a while! Thanks, for a chance to win it! My favorite notes lately have come from long-lost friends on facebook. I know those don’t actually qualify as “notes” but it has meant a lot to me to reconnect with people.

  85. Sherry Don 07 Nov 2009 at 12:06 pm

Where would we be without notes… late, forgotten, behind, disorganized etc.. I for one love to be the giver and receiver a handwritten note, and I especially love to get them from my husband, my children and my grandchildren (because theirs is always accompanied by a darling little drawing)! When my DGD was 6 she wrote this note “Why do you love me? I love you all my hart” … awwwwww, how sweet is that! I put it on my craft room door along with other notes from her and her younger brother over the years so I can see the changes in their writing and drawing.. and it makes me happy every time I enter that room! Thanks for the opportunity to win such a wonderful set!

The most favorite note I ever received was from my DH (then BF)– he wrote on the wall calendar on his bday “My birthday - I’m 21 with twenty years of experience.” I didn’t know he had written it until I turned the calendar over to that month. I cut that day’s square out of the calendar and I still have it many, many years later! Are you ever going to do a Brayer Workshop in Albuquerque?

I love surprising my family with notes in places they won’t expect. I have left notes in lunchboxes, backpacks, and more recently when my husband deployed in his bag he was taking on the plane. I wanted him to have a note to say I LOVE YOU!
Thank you for the chance to win!

I was just reminded my daughter of the note I sent in a mothers day card to my Mother in Law. I thanked her for raising a wonderful son, who is my wonderful husband!

My mother was famous for her letters and notes. She wrote everyone in both families once a week. I remember in College receiving notes each week, but the most special was after I got married and had children. I got an Easter note with a recipe card with her recipe for crab cakes. I still have the card. Even though my mom has passed many years ago, I remember that so well and can still taste her crab cakes!

During a darkk period in my life, my son left a note on the fridge that read, May the Lord give you enough sunshine to brighten your day, and enough rain to make you appreciate the sunshine. I’ve left it there, it’s been several years now. I also have a note from my mother, tucked away in my keepsakes; saying that she was incredibly proud of me. Both notes really touched my heart.

Thanks for the opportunity for blog candy, always fun.

Most importantly, be safe in your many travels. It sounds like you are having a great time and your glass is clearly full and overflowing.

    Blessings,

Methinks it’d be my latest “get well” greeting, which is one I’d rec’d in a greeting within the last year or so … it goes

    big soft pillow
    for your head.
    worry not,
    the world can wait.
    take your time,

I recently found my son’s note to Santa. I had it tucked away in my sock drawer. In child writing it read “Dear Santa, Please bring me a race track for Christmas. I love you”. This note is now 22 years old. It brings back memories of a little red haired boy. I shared it with him recently and he was surprised that I still had it. And yes, Santa did bring him a racetrack that year. Thank you for the walk down memory lane!

A favorite note I received recently was from my husband’s old college friend. They had completely lost touch for a period of about 25 years, and my husband managed to track him and his wife down — and found that they were living four hours’ train journey away from us. The note was from his friend, saying that he and his wife would be delighted to come visit us for a few days . . . and it so pleased my hubby! . . . . . and, later, it turned out to be a really fun weekend!

  104. Glendaon 07 Nov 2009 at 12:22 pm

My favorite notes are the ones my grandsons leave me on my computer on days they may be here. I have a little virtual post it note on my desk top and I am finding notes all the time that say “I love you Grandma” then signed by whoever wrote it.

  105. Moon 07 Nov 2009 at 12:27 pm

I guess my favorite notes would be those I have gotten from my youngest daughter now that she no longer hates the sight of us. She was angry all the time when she was in her teenage years but now seems to recognize that it was NOT all our fault! She is making up for all the times she wouldn’t let us close!

  106. Moon 07 Nov 2009 at 12:28 pm

  114. Jennifer McCarthyon 07 Nov 2009 at 12:41 pm

Like many others, my favorite notes were the simple ones - ones that my mom would put in my lunchbox when I went to school. They didn’t happen often, but they’re still very memorable to me - 25 years later!

My husband occasionally puts notes in my lunches when he makes my lunches (not very often) & it reminds me of my mom (who has long been deceased).

Hope you have a fabulous trip in OK!!

I have a collections of notes, some from my husband when we first started dating, and plenty from my two daughters. some of my special ones are from my grandmother who lives in England. she’s deaf and so we can’t speak on the phone, and so I cherish all the notes from her.

  116. Carolyn Son 07 Nov 2009 at 12:42 pm

Well, this isn’t exactly a note, but I have to share. My husband is not from the U.S.A. He grew up overseas and although he has been here for right at 22 years, he still has some problems with spelling. He sounds like he is from the south, cuz that’s where we live, but his spelling is atrocious. A couple of weeks ago, he went to Louisiana. He had
been gone a few days when my daughter said to me. “Hey Mom, Dad sent me a text (the new notes) today to see if I missed him. He called me sweatheart again.” I thought I would die, I was laughing so hard. I always get a good laugh off of his notes, etc. the spelling at times is so hilarious.

Michelle, I hope you are having a great time at your workshop. Thanks for all you do to inspire us.

I have received many special notes over the years, but the one that comes to mind today is one a received from the parent of a former student at the close of the school year. She wrote that her son was had his mind set on his end of year gift to me….a watch. He is a special needs student which makes it all the more special. His mother wrote that his choice was so appropriate because it symbolized the time that I had spent working with her son…very sweet and heartfelt.
Thanks for offering this special blog candy. Hope to attend one of your classes some day!

Oh, crickey, that’s a great set, I’d love to have it. It reminds me of a note I sent a friend a couple of days ago: I’m cutting paper trees and I’m thinking of you :) She responded saying that that’s the most romantic thing that was ever said to her.
I was cutting up trees for the background scene of today’s concert, she’s feeling poorly and cannot play, I was swamped with work and I cannot play as well. She wanted to help with the scenery, but she wasn’t strong enough, and I wanted to let her know that she’s not excluded.

Michelle I hope you are having a great trip and enjoying all of the students that you are inspiring….maybe there well be a new batch of autographed brayers!!! (Wonder how much they would go for on e-bay……….) OK on a serious note….. I worked on a bit of family genealogy a few years back, and uncovered that my Father saved letters he received from his Father when he was first married. He has a weekly letter for 2 or 3 years. My Grandfather died when I was almost one, and since there were no video cameras back then, this was a real life glimse of my Grandfather and his personality. (Of course I have heard many stories, but to read the letter he wrote in his own hand - well, that was such an amazing experience). My Mother let me sneak them out of their home and I copied them before returning them- they really are a treasure to me! The gift of gab I inherited came from that side of the family……. Grandpa offers alot of advise about buying homes and cars- so it is also a glimse of the world and the way ordinary people lived and the issues that concerned them in the 1950’s. There are a few ad’s from newspapers in it as well- very neat! Thanks for asking- that was a nice memory this AM!

Nov. 5th was our 43rd anniversary and though there was no note, a beautiful bunch of really red roses said ‘I still love you’ but the best note that day was from our granddaughter. She’s almost 7 and made us a ‘card’ out of a folded 12 x18 sheet of construction paper with her hand drawn picture of us and of course her in the middle. Inside it said ‘Happy Anniversary Gram & Papa’ and ‘I love you’. How great is that?

    Michelle,
XThe note that had stayed with me all these years was when I had to discipline my son one morning.
I got all four off to school and went back to sit down and drink my coffee and get a breathe of air. I lifted my cup and there was a note folded up under the cup. I opened it and it just said I love you. I reognized my little first graders handwriting, and realized that it was my son’s note.
Nothing more precious to me, I kept it hidden in jewlry box and when he graduated from college, I framed it and gave it back to him with the story and date on the back of he frame.
    Thanks for the memory… kathleen

Hi…luv your work! and your blog…My fav note…When my kids were young and in elementary school I used to tuck notes in their lunches…some funny, some reminders, but just something…One day I opened the fridge to grab my coffee creamer…and there was a post it from my little girl (about 8 at the time) saying: Mom, I couldn’t find my note yesterday, did you forget? lol… I hadn’t forgotten but tucked it inside something she didn’t eat! So I guess the moral of the story…kids like lil notes! as much as mom’s do…

Sometimes you need inspiration and sometimes you provide it. I got a note from a dear friend who had been tutoring me in my piano. It was a wonderful note that talked about our friendship and how proud she was of my accomplishments and ability. Sometimes you just need little notes like that to encourage you!! I have saved that little note and whenever I feel that I’m in a slump, I usually happen to run across it (in my music notebook) and it encourages me all over again!

I remember it as about a month ago, one of my potential clients left me a note after spending an entire day and 100+ miles of driving together. She said Thank you for the gift of your time. I was so touched I cried for almost a half hour. Every time I showed the note to someone I welled up with tears all over again. To think someone who I barely knew felt that my time was a gift to them. Wow! So I want to say thank you to you for your gifts that you share with us. Your time and talent.

My “hang in there” little note to a fairly new co-worker at out other plant. She was acused of tampering with the books and strealing money from a former employer. Whether she is guilty or not, I just needed to let her know I was to help if need be. So, from an older SU set with the possum hanging from the tree I made a little card and stamped the “Hang in there” with it. They actually took her jail and when she got out the next day - the card was on her desk. Of course, she cried.

So, I have been known in the past as a note leaver…I used to live with adults with disabilities as a support to them…I used to leave notes in their lunch boxes, and notes to the staff i worked with encouraging and spuring them on. I always thought of myself as a good note leaver…until i met my hubby! now he takes the cake. He always address the notes ‘to my peanut butter’ seeing as i call him honey…what goes better than peanut butter and honey??? sometimes they are simple little notes like, “…didnt want to wake you, you looked soo beautiful sleeping..had to leave early this a.m for a meeting..see you at dinner” to the deeper “you are my heart, my everything’ kidna letters…but I must say…his notes warm my heart..they are better than any store bought gift.

I would have to say that when my husband was leaving on Sunday mornings about 3 AM I would pack his cooler and throw a note in there for having a good day. Sometimes he found it right away, sometimes it was hours later depending how fr down I packed it in the bottles of water.

Just a missing you encouragement note!

    Thanks for the chance!

i have many favorite notes but my most favorite of all is on a napkin that is kept in my little “go to the beach” insulated bag. years ago, my boyfriend wrote “i (heart) u” in sharpie marker on a paper towel and put it in my bag so that i would find this little surprise at lunchtime… i was delighted — and it has stayed in that little bag ever since… every time we go to the beach or on a picnic i pull out that paper towel and remind myself of how much love there is in our lives!
thanks for the blog candy, michelle !!!!!

    Hi Michelle
When I first started to make cards I sent one to my mother and inside it said I”m sending you this card because I can. I love my mother very much and enjoy brightening her day. Also since I was just starting it wasn’t the best work but my mother thinks all her kids( ages 30-50) can do nothing wrong and are very talented. I guess that’s what moms do. Thanks for all your tutorials they make me very happy to see at the end of the day when I check my emails. You are amazingly talented.

I live in teh middle of nowhere and I had to go away when I was going to have my baby due to distance frm a hospital a week before I was due. My husband couldnt’ come until the last minute. I left ‘I love you’ notes all over the house - must have been fifty of them - ans some we didn’t find until months later LOL

  161. Sheila Hon 07 Nov 2009 at 2:13 pm

Some of my favorite notes are the ones I find written on random pages in my calender/to do book. Over the years my daughter has written “I love you, Mom” on different pages and left it for me to find when I get to that week. It always cheers my heart when I find them and I also enjoy going back through my books from years past and seeing how her handwriting and spelling have changed. :)
Thank you for the chance to win this great stamp set. Be safe and enjoy Oklahoma.

  162. Mary Pon 07 Nov 2009 at 2:13 pm

Just within the last month a woman at my church sent me a note saying she was thinking of me and praying for me after I had shared some struggles I’m going through. Getting that note really made my day!

  163. Sue Lon 07 Nov 2009 at 2:14 pm

One of my favorite notes was one my son left for me me in my suitcase. I was going on a business trip and would be away for a week. When I opened my suitcase I saw a little note from my son saying I was the best mom in the world and that he loved me. It really made my day. I think I still have that little note somewhere :)

  164. Diannaon 07 Nov 2009 at 2:14 pm

    Michelle,

Favorite note I have sent or received. Hands down it would be the very first not I got from my first grandchild expressing their love for me. It was so precious. Even though their were words that were spelled incorrectly or backwards written letters, it is still my most favorite note.

When I first read the title of this set “Note to Self”, I sort of grinned because I am the “QUEEN” of notes to myself. I always jot down all reminders, grocery lists, events or I would forget. Wonderful set, and I would be honored if I was the lucky winner.

    Thanks for being so generous.

    Dianna

    Michelle,

Thank you for this creative blog of inspiration. I have so many favorite notes–but they are all handmade and handwritten because “from my hand” usually means “from my heart.”

  166. Angela Fletcheron 07 Nov 2009 at 2:22 pm

    Michelle,

I look forward to your blog every day….I just love the beautiful things you do. I’m always making notes to self, but my favorite would be the note from my husband (packed amongst my suitcase on a business trip w/o him) that said “have a great time and know that I love you more every day”. We’ll celebrate our 36th anniversary in April. Thank you for the inspiration. Angela

  167. debbon 07 Nov 2009 at 2:27 pm

Reading the responses makes me realize I need to send /leave more notes! I used to tuck them into the boys lunches when they were young- I loved that! Now that they are adults(somewhat-LOL), I seem to only leave instructions- I will now get back to notes - for them and hubby and friends and relatives, etc! Thanks for the opp and the reminder!

    Michelle,

I’m new to this and don’t have a blog or even know how to yet. I receive your info via email at the present time; eventually, I’ll learn to blog too.

I love your art and creativity! Every card you make inspires me. I plan to attend your Brayer workshop in Monroe, LA in February. Can’t wait!!!

My favorite note of all times was from my daughter on her wedding day. She left me a note thanking me for everything I had done and put into her wedding and telling me that it was the happiest day of her life. That made my day, month and year!

    I love the set!

Mu husband is very sentimental and always leaves sweet notes. My fav was over 20 years ago. He left it on my windshield at work when he was “courting ” me. Part of the note were the words to a favorite song by Bob Seger, “Its You”
Another was when I was going through a rough time in life. My daughter was about 10. She drew a picture of our dog Sam and a big sun and wrote in big words I LOVE YOU. and left it under my plate at breakfast. Its in my craft room in a box of other mushy stuff I have saved over the years…its a BIG box :)

When my husband and I were dating I would send him little notes. One time, I drove by his house and left one on his windshield under the wiper. Many years later, we were unpacking boxes from a move. In the moving box I found a smaller box that I didn’t recognize. I opened it and inside were all the notes that I had written him. It really touched me that he had kept them.

  176. Lindaon 07 Nov 2009 at 2:43 pm

My favourite note is one from my Dad, giving me permission to marry. Dad was away at sea at the time (he was in the Navy) and I still have his note, forty six years later. He told me that even though he felt I was too young to marry, I was old enough to know my own mind so he gave us his blessing.

For a short time when my middle son Andy was small he had a note book on his desk.. We would leave random notes for each other about many things.. Like have a great day at school, do you know how much I love you, Sleep well.. and i would get those wonderful responses you can only get from an 9 year old.. I found it one day when cleaning his room and cried as I reread all the wonderful thing we shared in that notebook..

  182. Brenda Hamiltonon 07 Nov 2009 at 3:00 pm

I love the notes that people give me. I see them as being random acts of kindness. ….but just lately it was a note sent to me from a friend and this phrase was quoted in it “life is not measured by the number of breaths we take, but by the moments that take our breath away”
It jogged me into remembering the happier moments of when my son was still alive. So notes do arrive to help us along in life when we need them the most
Thanks for the chance to win
I hope you have a good weekend

During one of bridal showers, the hostess asked each attendee to write words of advice on a small notecard that she compiled into an album. Two years later, after my mother had passed away due to cancer, one of my friends started looking through the album one night. She laughed at the funny words of advice, then found the notecard from my mother, who was never able to meet my daughter (or my son).

She advised me to take care of my husband, only have two kids, and wrote that she loved me. At the end of the card, she wrote: P.S. Mary Anne is a good name (which was her name). And she ended with a silly smiley face.

    My daughter’s name is Marianne.

That was my favorite note…ever. Thanks for the chance to tell that story.

My husband and I often leave each other notes, sometimes just XO R/. I’m forever writing notes to myself, since without them I get sidetracked and forget to do things that I meant to do! I couldn’t exist without post it notes. But they are never big enough so I make my own! Would love to use this set for that. Thanks for the chance. Hope you’re having fun with this weekends class, and YES it’s a good thing you like to drive!

The nicest note I ever received was from a woman named Marilyn. She is a very good friend of my mother’s, and a former neighbor of mine. When her 5th son, Mitch, was 29, he died suddenly of a brain anuerysm. I was 27 at the time and took his death really hard. Mitch and my older brother were best friends. This was in 1990. Every year since, on the anniversary of Mitch’s death, I visit his grave and leave a flower or some other small token, and always a stone on his headstone. Several years ago I received a note from Marilyn thanking me for taking the time to always remember Mitch, and how much my thoughtfulness meant to her. It was genuine and heartfelt and made me feel good knowing I was bringing her joy on a day wrought with such sadness.

This is probably not what you are looking for, but my friend SCS’er Debzi333 has broken her ankle and her wrist. In order to give her a smile I emailed her a note offering to go on up there and French braid the hair on her legs as I’m sure she can’t shave.

When I was in high school I would leave small notes for classmates. They never found out who sent them but I got so much joy out of putting smiles on their faces. It was wonderful to see them just beam after reading it. I still do that every once in a while, try it sometine. It’s a great feeling!! julie

  195. Susanon 07 Nov 2009 at 3:40 pm

My favorite notes were the ones that my children wrote when they were school age. I sift thru things and build a box of mementos for each of them and read the notes on their essays and artwork. Maybe they weren’t things we said to each other everyday…but it feels good to know that they felt the things they wrote about. They are grown up and gone now…and I guess I am still having empty nest syndrome. It seems like poof…and they are gone..tho it didn’t feel that during it. I was a single mom of 3 sons.

  196. Jason Casperon 07 Nov 2009 at 3:43 pm

One time my wife went out of town with our children while I was still at work. When I got home late at night, I found sweet little love notes around the house in places she knew I would see them. They were on the mirror, on my pillow, in the fridge, in my sock drawer, and other places.

It was very sweet to continue to find them around the house that night and the next morning.

I love notes. I love to get notes (good ones) and love to send notes. I make and send cards to those on the church prayer list. Many times I don’t know the situations they are in, just that they are requesting special prayer. So as my little “hidden” ministry I send these people cards about every other week as long as their name appears on the list. My cards are unsigned but include a note or scripture verse, either one stamped, typed or a little hand written. For me it is fun to do and for those who receive it I know it is a blessing - I know this because once a very long long time ago in another place someone sent me a card that arrived every Sabbath Day until the crisis was over and it so touched my life and meant so much to me. I never discovered who the person was that sent them.

  200. Sherry Wiseron 07 Nov 2009 at 4:12 pm

Hey Michelle. My favorite note was from my daughter when she was about 7. She made me a little booklet titled “My MommY”. During the whole book she mispelled the word true and instead spelled it ture. Things like “my mommy is the most beautiful mommy in the word, it is ture, or at least I think it is, I don’t know, I’ll go ask her”! Ah innocence! I saved that little book and to this day (20) years later, we still read it out loud and just laugh and laugh together. Wish they never had to grow up! Thanks for all you do for us! Sherry

How can one single out that special note? I have been blessed with many ( which I have squirreled away for days when might be down and need a pick-me -up) but one which stands out, is a thank you from a now “in Heaven” dear friend, who wrote to thank me for being the encouragement she needed when days were so hard, she did not know if she could go on. She sat next to me in choir, and I never knew life was that bad for her. But evidently, God used me to say the right things, and it helped her through the worst of times. That has to be one of special ones…….along with so many that I cherish.

  233. Debbieon 07 Nov 2009 at 6:48 pm

My favorite notes have always been from my husband. From the simple “go get them tiger” when I was having a bad week to the much appreciated notes when he was on annual training (most notably his month in Egypt). It’s a relief to know your other half is safe when they are far away. He retired from the reserves a few years ago (to many jumps with a 60 pound ruck on his back) so I no longer have to worry about my guy - just all the others who are out there defending our rights.
Thanks for bringing this to mind, Michelle!

I just love this set. my son and I talked about buying this set so we could leave each other notes. We also talk about adding the calendar set to make our messages to each other complete. Thanks for the great candy!

My favorite notes were the ones that told us we were soon to be grandparents. And now the ones from the grandchildren.

Thanks for a chance to win.

My favorite note is the one that Santa Claus sends to my daughter every year. He is sure to talk about the high lights of the past year and mention the ways that he sees her helping out around the house or being a good friend to others. She is always so excited to get them and she simply glows for days. I am going to be sad when she no longer believes in Santa.

the most precious note that i ever rcvd was on line..via email… it came from my husband..who was hospitalized…

In scrapping I am just learning to journel and this will really help because of the beauty. In my everyday life, I love to send special “just because” cards each day to special people and YOU have helped me with that…and I thank you. I love to leave notes in my special cards to someone that is having a bad day and not sign my name…this picks them up (and me also)!! The scrolling would add such a wonderful touch.

I am a Girl Scout Leader, and I like sending Thank You notes to ANYONE who helps out with my troop. I always send handmade cards to people who are guest speakers at our meetings, and the girls and I attach Thank You “receipts” to all of our boxes of the Girl Scout Cookies that we sell. :-)

My best “note memory” was when a boy I had a HUGE crush on in junior high wrote me a note that he liked me & slipped it into my locker. What a fun find that was when I opened my locker the next time. it’s been 30 years, but I remember it like yesterday!

My most favorite note received came from my sister. She sent a beautiful card she had made at one of your workshops! Wow, do you inspire us all with your creations. You have a wonderful artistic gift. It is so nice to receive notes from my sisters and friends. I frame some of the creative treasures I receive. Then I can enjoy them for years (or months) to come.

The most recent note that I wrote was to my grandson ……after his high school football team lost in the quarter-final playoffs…..in quadruple overtime. He was so sad that they lost…….and I wanted him to know how proud were are of him and that “win or lose” he is still #1 to us.

  247. Rockin Robin Caldwellon 07 Nov 2009 at 7:32 pm

Hhhhmmm….I don’t have 1 favorite note. But, when my hubby and I were dating, he used to leave me notes in the most unusual places!!! We lived together before we married (gasp!!!), and it did take some creativity for him to be able to hide them as our house was rather small. I have them stashed all over the place (moved once since then) and find them, randomly, from time to time. Where did that sweet, romantic guy go??? If anyone finds him…please send him home!!! Hisses, Rockin Robin Caldwell (stampinsavage at yahoo dot com)

  248. Kim Son 07 Nov 2009 at 7:55 pm

I love leaving notes for myself, as I would forget things if I didn’t. But love when hubby leaves me little notes also. After 26 years, it doesn’t happen as often as it use to, but once in a while.

  249. Gail Kon 07 Nov 2009 at 7:55 pm

I put notes for my kids in everything that I can so that it will put a smile on there face or give them a chuckle when they read them when they were kids. Now I will put a note on there car or at the apartment/house to let them know that I miss them or just let them know that I am thinking about them. Now my youngiest does the same thing and boy does that brighten the day when she does. I have found that even the smallest of thoughts makes everyones day much brighter. And it will even brighten someones day when they are not even having a good day. A girl friend of mind called me one day to say that my note made such a difference in her horrible day, that it was a joy to read and really made a bad day go away.

  250. Judy Davison 07 Nov 2009 at 7:56 pm

One of my favorite notes I have sent was when my friends invited us to go visit with them at her parents home in the country. Her parents were away and thought it would be the perfect mini-getaway. Well it was lovely. 75 acres of paradise. It was spring and the weather was wonderful. My husband and I took our little chihuahua Chula. She loved it. Their home is two stories and she loved going up and down the stairs just like a small child. I took pictures of her on the stairs and in my thank you note to her parents I sent a picture of Chula at the top of the stairs. I later found out the picture of Chula put a smile on their face. Great memory!

When I was in college and asked for money, my dad would send me the deposit slip with a little note on the back. :) Even though he died over twenty years ago, I still think of those little notes and smile. Apparently, he liked my notes to him, too. When my brother went through my dad’s desk to settle his estate, he remarked that my father must have saved every note we ever sent him! Now technology has replaced these notes with texting, but I still try to send little notes. ****

My favorite notes were from my first ever boyfriend in high school. Since we moved out the area of my high school when I was a senior, I got up at 3:30 every morning and dropped at my boyfriend’s house at 4:30 (his sister was also my best friend at the time). Every morning I would find a note something like…”good morning my beautiful, wonderful, etc…you get the idea…I had a difficult family life then, so it was very nice to have somone so supportive in my life. Unfortunately, he was in an accident and passed away when we were both 18. I love the wonderful memories that will stay with me forever!!!

  275. Linda Uon 07 Nov 2009 at 9:43 pm

I couldn’t survive without notes to remind me what I want or need to do and when. Notes from my grandson 1500 miles away are the biggest thrill to receive - he cares enough to send his very best!

But the one note that just blew me away was from my husband’s cousin whose mother had just died. Inside the box that the note arrived in was a fur coat! Her mom wrote and said she wanted me to have a hug from her every time I put the coat on! I am not even a blood relative. There was no way the coat would fit me since she was such a tiny lady - but the love that she sent with that gesture was worth SO much more than anything I could have ever imagined receiving.

  276. Jacquion 07 Nov 2009 at 9:43 pm

While I have kept every note from my kids, and my husband, my favorite note was from my Mom when I was a child. It was the first time I took a sack lunch to school. I sat down at the lunch table, opened my little brown bag, and took out my napkin. When I opened the napkin, I read ‘Hope your day is G R E A T, Blue Eyes!! Love Mom’ I felt SO special! I smiled the rest of the day, and gave my Mom a great big hug as soon as I got back home!

I guess this is why I love making and sending cards, now! It makes people feel good, just knowing that you were thinking of them, and put some of yourself in the creation that they received!!

  277. Trish Hernandezon 07 Nov 2009 at 9:46 pm

    Hi Michelle,
Thank you for the opportunity to tell about favorite notes. I love writing and receiving them. The first one that comes to mind is my most recent tucked into a card patterned after the Courage card you recently made and sent to my son currently serving in Iraq. Of course, his dad and I are proud of him and wanted to encourage him in a most difficult situation. I know that our words and the beautiful card will do much to convey to him just how special he is.

    Thanks again.
    Trish

I think my favorite note would have to be one that my husband wrote to me when we were dating. He asked me to “go steady” on August 10, 1973. We would celebrate monthaversaries. Some months he’d give me a card and write a note in it.

Thanks for the chance to win.

My very favorite notes have been the little post it notes I find after my mom leaves from visiting. I find her little love notes in the silverware drawer, my shoes and even in my coffee cups! It’s like getting more hugs after she leaves and always makes me smile! (it’s the little things!)

I teach high school biology. Several years ago, one of my students used to write “Note to Self” on the top of her test, telling herself what she wanted to do better on next time. It was such a pleasure to watch her improvement through the course of the year. Whenever I hear the words “note to self”, I think of her.

Hope you are having fun teaching. Someday, I will take one of your classes.
A long time ago, about 20 years ago, my grandfather had a brain tumor and was in the hospital. Due to the tumor, had been depressed. I felt so bad, so wrote him a very long letter, describing all of the wonderful things he had done for other people and what he meant to me. He would show that letter to every medical person who came to his bed and tell them “this is the real me”. I was very glad that I did write that letter.

    Hi Michelle,

Thanks for the opportunity to win blog candy. I always enjoy your brayer emails. Mine never come out as good as yours. One day I want to take a class when you are in my area. I like to leave my husband little notes every chance I get. My favorite times are when I leave him cards w/ sweet notes in them for his b’days. I will leave one wherever I know he looks each day. I wait until he goes to bed that night and stay up and get them ready. Some examples are below: Sock drawer, medicine cabinet, front seat of his truck, inside his golf bag, and even w/ his lunch. I like to give him one from the 4 cats as well. He has a b’day coming up this month, so I am going to make some ahead of time and get them ready for the big day.:-) Thanks for the reminder.

I used to write notes to my best friend all the time in high school. If he was out for a day, I’d pretend like I was taking notes for class, but I was really writing him notes about what he was missing at school.

  297. Gwen Smithon 07 Nov 2009 at 11:25 pm

My family means the world to me and from day one of our marriage my husband and I have left notes upon notes over time to each other. I would make him lunch and inside the container there would be a note and when he come home sometimes there would be a note saying thank you and I love you. I have saved every note my children have written me and as I make there family history (scrapbook) the notes are sprinkled over pages. As they read them it brings back memories of the time when they wrote the notes and what was going on in their lives. We have laughed and cried together over them and my children ask, “don’t you throw any thing
away?” Thank you for the beautiful cards you share with me….

  298. Violeton 07 Nov 2009 at 11:34 pm

I have a dear friend who is going thru a rough time but always takes the time to send out thank you cards to those who drop off flowers/food etc. So, I made and bought her some thank you cards and mailed them to her and begged her not to send me a thank you card for the thank you cards - that made her laugh so I guess it would be my favorite note to someone.

    Hi Michelle

What a cute little set! My favourite note was one my Mom left on the kitchen table. All it said was….Phone Bill…. As each of us came home, we read the note and asked…Bill who? Too funny….it was a reminder to pay the phone bill! Even now, many years later, it still makes me smile, thinking of how we all laughed at that simple little note!

My favorite notes have to be the ones my youngest daughter has sent me over the years. She decorates her notes with all sorts of little drawings and smilies that are so typical of her. The best ones are her cartoon strips. She creates entire stories with stick figures that are so expressive they are impressive. I’ve been saving her notes for years and when she’s grown with kids of her own I plan to take them out and show them to her so we can have a good laugh and a warm mother-daughter moment.

My favourite note was left on my bed side table when my 7 year old grand son went home after staying with me for a few days ‘dear nan, read this when you are lonely and you will know how much I love you xoxoxo” not only did it make me cry but i cherish this note more than any i have ever received.

I have received many notes over the years, from my children, my students, my mom, my siblings, and my hubby too. One of the sweetest notes I received from my husband was one a short time after we got married. It was a very simple note- on a post it note- but all that was on there was a big hand drawn smiley face, and the words : “Love Ya” ~B~. I have that on my dresser to look at often.

  306. Tamaraon 08 Nov 2009 at 12:11 am

My favorite note was from my mother. I had left my home town to begin my new life with my husband. My mother and I never lived farther than an hour away from each other and relocating from Northern California to Southern California is the farthest away from each that we have ever been. One day I received a package in the mail, my mother sent me a super sweet, tear jerking card and inside of it was a refrigerator magnet which read, “Wherever you are, near or far, you are in my heart.” The magnet was shaped like a bird house complete with a mommy and baby bird. Even though it’s been 10 years and I’m only 800 miles away I have the beautiful gift my mom gave me posted on my computer desk so that I can glance at it and feel like my mom has given me a big hug.

  307. Leanne Durandon 08 Nov 2009 at 12:15 am

My favorite notes are ones I send to people anonymously. What fun! For instance, I subscribe to a daily e-mail devotional and over the years have become acquainted with the writer and his family via these e-mails. I have sent a number of notes and cards to this husband/wife, yet have never even met them. They know me only by my closing words of “your Sister in Christ from Greeley, CO”.

One quick note was when I pinned a note on my husband on what he needed to get at the store….so the clerk could double check and make sure he got everything…good sport he was in going along with it…he is sooo forgetful!!!

    thanks for the blog candy…

My Mom and I always had a special way of leaving notes, we both loved cookbooks, so we would buy each other a little cookbook of some kind and then put cute NOTES with pictures and the date in the front of the book…she died a few years ago, but everytime I open one of those cookbooks, it’s like she’s still here with me, I sure do miss her!

  312. Quazicaton 08 Nov 2009 at 4:24 am

I don’t have children myself but I love the notes that my nephew and neice use to write to me. They usually included a drawing. They are both teenagers so they don’t send them any more.

  313. Candy Farleyon 08 Nov 2009 at 4:26 am

My hubby and I have written so many notes to each other. The first note he ever wrote me was to ask if I would be his girlfriend, we were in 7th grade. I didn’t become his girlfriend til we both turned 16 our sophmore year in High School. =) He was very sweet. We’ve been together ever since. So Dec. 12th makes 12 years we’ve been together. I love notes, I still sometimes will write him a little note and stick it in his wallet so he’ll find it when he reaches for some money. :)

  314. Phyllison 08 Nov 2009 at 6:20 am

Sweet, silly, stupid little notes are gifts of love. My DH leaves me notes in his Levi pockets so I can find them when doing laundry. Yes, I check all the pockets to see what he has left me. But my favorite note from him is a note he wrote on a piece of waxed paper and wrapped my lunch in it. He etched it with his fingernail because he couldn’t make any ink stick to it. Yep it brought a tear and yep, I still have it.

  315. Lasonaon 08 Nov 2009 at 7:07 am

My most favorite note would be one given to be from my stepson, on it he wrote in his very best cursive writing he was only 9 then and I have been with him since he was 5, Cory is his name, he wrote” love you mom and dad”, I have it framed in my room. I have been his best mom he says ever(their mom doesn’t come around but rarely, very rarely. My favorite note written would be the ones I leave in the kids lunches telling that I lovem

  316. Patty Stabileon 08 Nov 2009 at 7:30 am

The best note, was actually a card my parents and sister gave me when my hubby and I were going through a rough patch. I felt like a failure. They reminded me that marriage was dealing with the ups and downs -> together and not laying blame. Well, it brought me out of my funk and reminded me that they will always have my back. And this past June we celebrated 14 years of marriage. Family can be a pain at times, but they are always a blessing!

  317. Sabine SRon 08 Nov 2009 at 7:33 am

    What a cute giveaway.
The last note I gave to my best friend who has a hard time at the moment. I told her to be sure of her own strength, her precious personality and encouraged her to go her own way.

  318. Elenorahon 08 Nov 2009 at 8:17 am

As with so many other mom’s (and wives) I have always put notes in lunches, on pillows in pockets or where ever they might find them. These were all sent with little bits of encouragement, love or humor, and my children (and husband) always felt just a little special when reading them. When one of my daughters was a teenager and we had been going through some difficult times she sent me a note that said “I know you have always been there for me, thank-you. I will always love you Mom”. It still gets to me when ever I think about that note.

Thank you for sharing with us.

  319. Mary Anne K.on 08 Nov 2009 at 8:37 am

I think the very favorite notes I had sent in the past are one that were more tucked than sent. I did little notes of encouragement in my kids lunches.

I received a note from a friend whose husband is very ill. I have been sending them cards every week and she wrote to tell me she never really understood the hoopla surrounding card-making until they were on the receiving end and now she wants to get into the group. She said she has them all displayed around her house and can’t throw them away.

I often leave little cards and notes for my kids in their lunch or waiting for them in their bedroom. My favorite note is from when both kids drew me a picture and left it in my bag I take every day. It was a great way to start the day!

  325. Debbie Cottonon 08 Nov 2009 at 10:06 am

    Good morning Michelle,

I just love it every time I see your projects pop up in my inbox - so much fun seeing what you are up to. I have used some of your projects with my ladies, while teaching class and they love them all.

My favorite recent note was actually a quick card for a friend in the hospital asking if she thought the hospital would allow a slumber party - after all it’s not like they don’t have any beds, blankets and pillows!!

Thank you for offering this cute little set as blog candy - who knows, I may get lucky and win this

    Deb :o)

  326. Gayle C.on 08 Nov 2009 at 10:23 am

My favorite note is a note of thanks from mother. We have always had a very special relationship which has now taken on new meaning since she will be 85 this month. I rearranged my work schedule so we have one special day together with each other every Monday. We both look forward to it and always enjoy each others company.

Thanks for the opportunity to win this set.

My favorite notes are the notes I get from my students. Teaching special needs children in K, 1, and 2, the little notes they write to you are priceless!!!

  328. Dawn Ron 08 Nov 2009 at 10:32 am

My husband works in the same school system as I do but I’m a teacher and he’s a plumber so I stay in one place and he goes to different places all day long. Occasionally, he would be in my building, but I wouldn’t be in my room or I would be working in another classroom. I would often see a little “bunny” drawn in the corner of my board. Or I would get a picture of this little bunny in my mailbox. The bunny would say “I love you this much”. That is my favorite note.

  329. AnneSATXon 08 Nov 2009 at 11:27 am

My favorite note so far is the note my younger stepson wrote inside his Christmas card to me last year. He thanked me for being his stepmom and told me he felt I was more of a mother than his real mom had been to him over the last 13 years. I cried when I read it, especially as I have so often felt like I was still the outsider and that he just tolerated me, which was the most I had hoped for. I will always treasure that note.

  330. Dawnon 08 Nov 2009 at 11:39 am

My favorite note was not one that was written to me. It was written by my now deseased Mum to my best freind, Jean, in Canada. I had taken my up to Mum up to Canada to have lunch with my friend and her very elderly Mother.

Years later, on one of my friend’s visits, she gave me an envelope and in it was the Thank You note my mother had written, thanking her for the lovely time she had had that day with her Mum.

  331. Karinon 08 Nov 2009 at 11:47 am

Any and all of the notes my mom gave me throughout my life. All the more precious now that she has passed on.

  332. Glenda Aon 08 Nov 2009 at 1:03 pm

Notes are part of my life. I leave notes for my family members to remind them of daily activities, notes re groceries required and of course the endless ‘to do’ notes . Would love to win the blog candy.

  333. Mary Hon 08 Nov 2009 at 1:24 pm

One of my favorite notes that I have framed in my bedroom is from my son. He was in kindergarten at the time and learning to write. Certain letters were a bit confusing (what side does the lines go on??) . For mothers day that year - he drew me a picture and wrote “Haggy Mother’s Day” He was so proud of it and I didn’t say anything then - but now we laugh about it.

  334. lindaon 08 Nov 2009 at 1:28 pm

my favourite note is one my husband left for me when I was feeling really down about myself. It was just a simple note, all it said was “I want to help you see yourself as I see you.”

He gave that to me about 9 years ago. It’s still on my dresser today.

  340. Nancy J. Bakeron 08 Nov 2009 at 3:07 pm

Oh wow…… I have to say that my favorite is from my hubby…….

  344. Kathy G.on 08 Nov 2009 at 3:59 pm

Notes are such a wonderful way to communicate, whether they’re just a few words or long & chatty — is it still a note then? My most recent favorite came from my cousin (a transplant from Arizona & now living in Minnesota). She wrote, “Little balls of hate are falling from the sky.” Yes, we were having an October snowfall that delighted kids & skiers, but left others quite dismayed. Note to self: Treasure the day.

  345. Tonion 08 Nov 2009 at 4:10 pm

The best note I got was when I had to leave town to go to a funeral for my sister-in-law and a good friend gave words of thoughts and encouragement. It gave me the strenghth to go to the funeral and be there for my in-laws and my brother.

  346. Gloria Flowerson 08 Nov 2009 at 4:11 pm

  349. Jeanieon 08 Nov 2009 at 5:29 pm

  352. Joanne Loweon 08 Nov 2009 at 5:42 pm

    Hello,

My favorite card creation so far is a tri-fold shutter card that I made for a special guy for his birthday. It used tangerine tango CS, with some fall-colored DP, some cuttlebug-embossed CS that I embellished with a sakura clear glitter pen. I used some nestabilities circles, and the only embellishments were some fall-colored maple leafs on top of the homemade textured glitter paper. I was really proud of this card, I have lots to learn in cardmaking but as long as I’m seeing improvement, then I’m happy.

I appreciate all that I learn from seeing the beautiful creations on your site.

    Thanks,

    Joanne

  353. Judy Coveyon 08 Nov 2009 at 5:58 pm

Probably one of my all-time favorite notes was left by my adult daughter (20-something) when she was here from CA visiting. My husband and I were down in our basement working out and we didn’t know that our daughter was sitting on the top step listening to our conversations. My husband made some comment about how cute I looked using the treadmill with my “sexy” red nitie on and then at some point I went from the treadmill to the weight bench and made a comment about the particular “thing” that I was doing with the hand weights (I couldn’t remember the exact term). Well anyways, days went by and my daughter left to head back to CA and we discovered an envelope that she left addressed to “Mom and Dad” and inside were three note-size pieces of paper with various comments about our conversations and one of them was “Mom, I’m sure you looked cute in that nitie when you were working out, but it’s not really appropriate attire, and then she goes on to say “and those things that you were doing on the weight bench were flys not curls.” I made her a scrapbook a couple of years ago for her birthday and included the littles notes that she left for us.

  354. Amy Youngon 08 Nov 2009 at 5:59 pm

A favorite note that I have received came from a parent of a former student. I’m a teacher and received a note from a parent letting me know what a difference I made in teaching their child. It was nice to receive a positive note from a parent. If you have a child in school right now, I encourage you to write that teacher a positive note. We rarely receive them and who doesn’t like a note of appreciation once in a while? Thanks for the wonderful blog candy and the fabulous stamping inspiration! Your blog is definitely one of my faves!!!

Thank you so much for your daily ideas. They are so inspiring!
I work with weight loss surgery patients before and after surgery. Their gratitude after being successful with both losing excess weight and keeping it off is astounding! I so enjoy receiving notes from them stating, “You’ve changed my life…I have a life now, and I didn’t have one before surgery! Thank you so much!” I thank God that I am so lucky to work in a program that is so fulfilling every single day!

  369. Cecile Gon 08 Nov 2009 at 10:25 pm

When I made lunches for my husband I would leave notes in it telling him to have a good day at work. One day I found a note for me in my lunch — it was a little 1×1 inch flip book that would draw out “I love you” and a heart. I thought it was the cutest thing!

Thank you for the chance to win this set, and keep up the great work!

My favorite note, to this day, is a letter than my mom sent me one summer. I was spending it with my Grandparents in Florida and she was home in CT. I was (and still am) totally into gaming and always tried to get her to play. While I was gone she decided to try The Legend of Zelda (original one…) and I can still remember her letter chronicleing where she was in the game. So Cute!

  389. cheryl fon 09 Nov 2009 at 8:03 am

My favorite note was one included in my 30th birthday card from my parents. My mom usually picks out a funny card, but for a change the one she gave me that year was sentimental with a verse about a mother watching her daughter get older. And the note inside said, “This expresses everything I feel, but I’ve never had the words to say…Love Mom”. I’ve kept it and every now and then, take it out and read it. Still makes me cry!

How I love to send handmade notes of encouragement to friends and family to share with them how much God loves them and is providing for their needs.

I also receive very special notes which I hang on the door of my craft room. These notes from my family and friends encourage me as they remind me of those who love me. I have special pictures posted there from those small grandchildren who cannot as yet write.

I have made some of my cards using your gorgeous ideas. They bless me, and I am sure they also bless others. Thank you for your wonderful ideas.

    Blessings,

    Phyllis Huie

One of my favorite notes was when my husband stopped by my office and left a note on my windshield that said, “I love you honey. You make my life sparkle like the stars. See you in a while. — Poppy”

  397. Sandyon 09 Nov 2009 at 9:24 am

What a cute set !!! I LOVE leaving little notes here and there for my family :-))) I can see that one getting LOTS of use !!

  398. Tammion 09 Nov 2009 at 9:34 am

My favorite notes come from husband. Recently, he took the time to go through my stamp sets to find several “love themed” images and selected coordinating ink colors to stamp a simple I Love You note. He really put some thought and time into it.

He writes me little one or two line notes often, but this one end with a “PS: I cleaned your stamps properly too!” Yes…the thought had crossed my mind.

He’s soooooo sweet and knows me well. Even when I don’t think he’s paying attention, he often does notice.

I keep all of his notes, and some day I’m going to scrap them in a book just for me!

My favourite note has to be the one when DH asked me to marry him!!

  401. Lisa Thompsonon 09 Nov 2009 at 9:51 am

This one is hilarious…you’ll love it. right after you were here in columbia doing the workshop, i was on splitcoast and saw a really neat brayered card with mailboxes and so i clicked on it and it was michelle from fenton, mo that had attended the advanced workshop. i left her a little note stating how much i liked her card. about two days later, that very card came in the mail to me. she wrote in her card that it was very ironic that I had commented on her brayered card, because she made it to send to me to thank me for hosting your workshop! How funny. I have it displayed in my room right along with your wonderful card and the creations from that workshop. :)

  402. Lisaon 09 Nov 2009 at 9:58 am

My favorite note is the one I left in my daughter’s backpack the night before she started middle school. She was so nervous so I made her a card based on the colors of one of her notebooks and wrote her a note about being herself. She found it in her backpack the next day at school. She loved it!

  403. Jenniferon 09 Nov 2009 at 10:07 am

My favorite note I ever got was from my grandmother. I idolize her and her ability to be the most gracious host. She sent me a note telling me how proud she was of me and the Christmas dinner I hosted at my house. She is 87 years old and still going strong! I want to be her when I grow up!

    Hi, Michelle, brayerist extraordinaire.

One of the notes I enjoyed doing the most was years ago to my elementary school music teacher, telling her how much the work she did with the music program had enriched my life and gave me such joy in school. She was wonderful!

  406. Mary Wilsonon 09 Nov 2009 at 10:34 am

Good morning and God Bless you for all the gifts you send our way. Just received a note from a friend I volunteered with at the White House. Notes are the best! Please throw my note in the ring. Thanks soooo much.

  407. Doreen Patoileon 09 Nov 2009 at 10:49 am

My very favorite note, which I received when I was 4 years old (and I still have it), is from my 12 year old sister who was in the hospital fighting cancer. It appears she must have had someone write it for her, but she was thinking of me. My sister passed on a few weeks later. The note is from 1957.

I would say my favorite notes are the ones my husband & daughters would leave me randomly around the house, telling me they love me or to just have a great day. My husband still does & my daughters are grown, & phone calls have replaced the notes from them!
Michelle, your blog, creations, & tutorials are wonderful!! I look forward to seeing what u create next!

You are so good to us! I have to say that my favorite notes are those my daughter wrote for me when she was little. Small children are so good at expressing themselves when they draw or write. Now that she is a teenager and wouldn’t write her mom a note if her life depended on it, it is nice to have those from when she was little!

  412. Kim Starkon 09 Nov 2009 at 11:26 am

Notes for no reason are the best ones to get. I went on a card making binge one weekend and numbered a bunch of cards and then hid them thru out my house for my husband to stumble upon. Months later they turn up when least expected and I cant even remember where I have hidden them all. He gets a little giggle when they turn up execpt when glitter was left all over socks from hiding out at the bottom of that drawer for awhile
    hehe

    Hi, Michelle-

I’ve send jar of jam this morning to my friend with a note.
I’ve used my own hand writing, but would love to have stamp for that kind of occasion. This is a great set. I hope I win this time.

    Thank you, Olga

This is so funny. My DH was at the police academy and I sent him little notes. Well on was a postcard and on the front it said my toes miss your toes. Well with this you had a bed and of course two set of feet. Little did I know that the police instructor would read anything on the front of letters and such!!! Boy, was my husband embrassed. He is very ridged with things like that, so a big surprise for him. Though he loved the card and still uses that saying to this day after 17 years of marriage. I love giving him notes in his briefcase today. Thanks for letting me share and for the Blog Candy-love the set.

I love little notes to the kids in their lunches. Sooo embarassing, but I think they like it…deep down somewhere…

  422. Ruthie Grayon 09 Nov 2009 at 1:18 pm

My favorite note is from a lady who I really didn’t know all that well. I saw her sitting outside my college classes one day and I knew that she would be waiting their for her daughter for some time. So, I brought her a coke to drink. She sent me a “thank you” and I’ve carried it in my Bible ever since. I take it out from time to time and read it again and it reminds me to be thoughtful.

  423. Phylon 09 Nov 2009 at 1:22 pm

I’ve always been a little note writer. My husband of 31 years is, too. Now, my 24 year old daughter does the same. It’s the little things that count. Love your stuff.

I write notes all the time, bu usually don’t embellish them, maybe next time I will!

  425. Felisaon 09 Nov 2009 at 1:34 pm

I leave notes all over the place. At work, at home, in my car…………………..Sometime I think I need to leave myself a note to remind myself to write a note!! I really love this set!! It would make the notes I leave in my wake a lot classier!!

  426. Sue Gundersenon 09 Nov 2009 at 1:56 pm

I have been a note writer all my life, from sneaking notes to BFF’s in grade school to writing notes to myself - reminding me what to pick up at the grocery store.
My favorite note was in 10th grade, I wrote on my boyfriends locker - in lipstick..I love you. Then found out I wrote on the wrong one.. his was the one next to the one I wrote on. But I married the guy and 40 happy years later, we still talk fondly of that note.
Thanks for sharing your talent and the chance to win that cute set.. as always, Sue

  427. Michelleon 09 Nov 2009 at 1:57 pm

When I was little, my mom would always write a note that she would put in my lunch box. It was a trill for me to open in every time to see what she had written. Sometimes it was long and sometime short but it always made me feel special that she was tacking the time to do it EVERYDAY.

  428. Sandi Daileyon 09 Nov 2009 at 2:15 pm

Oh my gosh Michelle, there have been 427 responses to your blog candy already. How famous you are!! I know your techniques/cards/projects are awesome; that’s why I visit your blog all the time and of course pick up all kinds of tips on how to brayer and stamp. Thank you more than you know for sharing with us as I know how much time you must put aside for this. And now in response to my favorite note I have received. I absolutely cannot tell you of “one.” I do have to tell you that I treasure all notes to me because people just don’t send anything in the mail anymore like they used to and I so miss that. And my notes I treasure the most are all the ones I received from my mother. If anybody would have told me that prior to her passing, I would have looked at them like they were daffy. But there is no amount of money that you could pay to get these from me now. They are truly priceless. So take note: send notes to all you love on a regular basis. They will treasure them forever more than you know.
    Sandi

My favorite note is from my Grandson, written to me when he was 4 yrs. old. He is now 9 yrs. old and that note still hangs on my fridge. It makes me smile whenever I look at it. It will hang there forever.

  430. Glenda Lehrmannon 09 Nov 2009 at 3:09 pm

My favorite note was from my Mom on Valentine’s Day 1984. I was in school in TN and was feeling blue. I went to the Post office and discovered my Mom had sent me a box of goodies - inside was a note she wrote - that she and Daddy loved me and missed me. I was could not wait to call her and thank her.

    Fabulous CANDY!
My favorite note was one from my husband (then boyfriend) left for me with an ice cream candy bar after a long day of full shifts at two jobs. I found it at about 2:30 in the morning when I was exhausted and it just made me smile.

  432. Tiya-Bon 09 Nov 2009 at 3:21 pm

I love to send notes to my sister because she responds so well. I send very short notes and hes send ones that are so embellished and beautiful.

  433. R Lynnon 09 Nov 2009 at 4:20 pm

One of my favorite notes I rec’d was from my daughter after she went to her first year of college. She thanked me for being a great mom and for teaching her well! Wow, what a blessing :) Now that she’s away, I like to send her little notes at college!

  434. Lisa Tedderon 09 Nov 2009 at 4:49 pm

I will join the ranks on trying to win this stamp set. I just would like you to know that I have learned so much by following your tutorials! I have taught some classes on how to brayer, and they love it! thank you for helping those like me learn how to do something so beautiful!

Coincidentally, I put a love note in my husband’s sandwich this morning. I wrote on a Post-It Note and slipped it in between the meat and cheese. I know, it sounds unsanitary, but he loves those types of surprises. And to my knowledge – he’s never swallowed the paper yet!

  437. Patti J.on 09 Nov 2009 at 5:16 pm

My favorite notes are the little ones that DH leaves for me. He goes out of town every week for several days, and doesn’t leave a note each time, but when he does, they are ‘just for my eyes’! Sometimes I’ll find one on the back of the bathroom door, or when I pull down my bedding, there will be one on my pillow, or in the shower….He leaves me little gifts that way now and then as well! Thanks for the chance to win, and I have enjoyed reading everyone’s comments! Safe travels!

  438. Sue Con 09 Nov 2009 at 5:36 pm

My favourite notes are from my sister who always makes me smile when she sends them to me. There doesn’t have to be a special reason, which is why they are so special to me. Thanks for offering these stamps for blog candy. Sue C x

Hmmm…. how could I have missed seeing this stamp set? It’s too cute! It’s so hard to think of just one note that is my favorite, but I absolutely love to look at the notes and cards that my daughter gave to me when she was little. She’s 20 years old right now and not into sending or writing notes. I guess that’s part of the bad side of things like Facebook. But I will always treasure the notes that she wrote in her little handwriting. Adorable!

  440. Kay C.on 09 Nov 2009 at 6:20 pm

As I get older, I use notes all the time. I need them to help me remember! :>) This set would be soooo cute to have some made up, and have them in my purse for those fast notes that need to be written. My favorite notes are from my children and their expressions of love and appreciation of all the things my husband and I have done for them over the years. Thanks for including me in your drawing.

  441. Janet Stineron 09 Nov 2009 at 6:21 pm

My most memerable note was to my husband a few day after we first met that was taken and kept by someone else, his best friend. A few days after we met I had seen his room mate and asked why I hadn’t been around and I said that Jeff hadnt called and couldnt coz he didn’t have my number…so I gave a note to him to give to Jeff that said “If you want to, give me a call sometime”. A month later while driving down the road, Jeff flagged me over and asked why I hadn’t came around and I told him that he didnt call so I thought he didnt want to see me. He then told me that he didnt have my number. I told him that about a month earlier I had given it to his room mate, Mike. So he asked me out and that night we waited for his room mate to come home….Mike walked in and see me and went white as a ghost. Jeff asked him if he had something to give him from me, and Mike laughed nervously and said “Oh yes, its in my wallet”. 27 years later we are still teasing Mike about keeping my number!

  445. Gillianon 09 Nov 2009 at 8:29 pm

    Hi Michelle!
What a faboulous set you offer! How fun!
Here is my note memory for the blog candy:
When I was in the 3rd 4th grade, there was a cute little boy with strawberry blond hair cut in a crew cut in my class. He was so cute! He smiled all the time, and he had a cute little laugh! I thought I would be brave, and send him a note:
Check yes or no if you love me! I passed the note to Marty. He sent it back to me!
    He answered with a yes!!
I was thrilled! I will never forget the surprise I had that he checked yes! I had anticipated a no, because all little guys and little girls at that age think each other have cooties! It was a memory I will never forget!

    Love your work.

  449. Karenon 09 Nov 2009 at 10:35 pm

I recently moved from a home I’d lived in for 30 years to a newly remodeled home. I was determined to clean out the clutter & be selective about what I moved with me. One thing I could not part with was an organizer book I have filled with special notes, cards, letters, etc. from family & friends over the past 30 years of my marriage. My kids are 24 & 28 & I still have notes they left me with a variety of messages written in “little people” handwriting. These are some of my most cherished possessions & of course they were moved & put in a place of safekeeping. Modern technology & emails are ok & I enjoy getting them from friends. But nothing can beat a handwritten note…..no matter how young or old the writer is. Thank you for entering me for a chance to win!!

  450. Melanieon 10 Nov 2009 at 1:13 am

My most treasured note is a little poem my grandmother wrote to me when I graduated from high school, but I also love the little notes my young daughter leaves for me, mispelled words, hard to read letters, and all! They make me smile everytime!!

  451. Jessicaon 10 Nov 2009 at 1:42 am

My favorite giving/receiving notes were actually from high school. We got a little group of us girls together to basically give each other encouragement every day, so we’d slip little notes like - you rock; or thanks for “xx” - in each others lockers to keep us motivated and up to make it through some rough times.

  452. Carol Richardon 10 Nov 2009 at 3:18 am

I love notes of any kind and I am always writing them. My favorite was a note from my granddaughter when she was 6 yrs. she is now 23 and I still have her note. It said I love you Gramma and Grampa. I will treasure it always.

  453. Tina Prestonon 10 Nov 2009 at 7:41 am

When my seven day old grandson died I received lots of store bought cards with the signatures of people.

But the kindest card I received was a simple home made card that just expressed the writer’s symathy for what I was going though. I knew she’d taken the time to make the card and did more than just write her name in the card. It meant a lot to me.
    Tina

My favorite notes came from a young man that later became my husband. :-) We wrote them and left them in a secret spot… A place that we both could get to at separate times. Very romantic at the time…

  455. Teresa Con 10 Nov 2009 at 9:30 am

A young man I have know since his birth recentrly graduated from Med School. His family threw him a party and of course gifts were received. The Thank You note I received from him was so thoughtful and personal, not the normal “Thanks for the gift” note I seem to receive now a days. The note just made my day. If I win the stamp set, I promise to send you a beautiful thank you note. T Cline

  456. Cynthiaon 10 Nov 2009 at 9:56 am

My favourite “note” was the one I wrote for my husband on our 15th wedding anniversary. I wanted to write to tell him what I love about him. The note turned into 15 pages! And even then I couldn’t put onto paper exactly how special he is to me.

That “note” was the best present I could have given my husband. :) And, of course, it was accompanied by a hand-made card!
Here it is, years later, and I am still in love with him. How lucky am I??

  457. Peggy Wilsonon 10 Nov 2009 at 10:44 am

Count me in. I found a cherished note just the other day that my little nephew left me. He’s just learned to write his name and he’d written it on his Playschool table in blue crayon (his favorite color) along with a picture of a dinasaur, one of his favorite things. I’ll never wash it off. How lucky am I?

  458. Ruthieon 10 Nov 2009 at 11:48 am

My son left me my favorite note: When I went for my new stamp set it was missing. In it’s place was a note: I’m holding your stamp set for ransom. You need to make me a German Chocolate Cake for a safe return by Friday or I will donate the set to the school.

  459. Bev Dahlon 10 Nov 2009 at 12:00 pm

I hope I am not too late! I am a NOTE person. I leave notes for my hubby when I am going to be away.. even for a day.. and when I come home.. the list is completed! He is sooo awesome.
We can’t go on a trip without notes.. for weeks in advance! I make notes for what to pack for each day.. for the food we take and what can be taken to the camper now and the perishables that need to go in the day or 2 before.
    I can’t function without notes!
I hope you are having fun in Oklahoma! I am from Stillwater and really loved that little town. but I love living in Colorado now!

My favorite note was one that my husband left me right after we found out I was pregnant with our first child. He was so happy and excited that we were able to get pregnant the first month that we tried! He left it for me on my craft room door. That was over 19 years ago and I still have it! It brings happy tears to my eyes every time I read it!

  464. micheleon 11 Nov 2009 at 11:45 pm

my favorite note is more than one note: my mom and i are now sending each other notes as pen pals. it is a lovely way to re-connect.

I just sent a thank you note on an easel card to a friend. She works in the office of my gyn Dr. and kindly told me that the Dr. had just received 100 doses of H1N1 flue vaccine. She told me I was eligible to get the vaccine free as I am a patient. The one caveat…I had to get there in 24 hrs. Not a problem. I had been on the pot about the vaccine, but took her kindness to mean I needed to get off and so I did. I’m now innoculated against both flus. I feel blessed.
Erica (who is starting to do the happy dance as I get to do Michele’s class in January..whoopie).
