Flower Field – Tutorial #281
Whew, today I have been cutting, stuffing, packing, etc. for my trip to Portland, Michigan in the morning. I created all new projects for my Brayer Workshops in Portland, which always gets me very excited. I cannot wait to show them off, lol. My husband says I am a traitor since I will be in Michigan where the big game between rivals Ohio State and Michigan will be playing this weekend. My husband is a big Ohio State Fan. It is hard not to be when you live in Ohio.
Now that everything is prepared and packed into the car I can sit down and put a tutorial together for all of you that cannot get to Portland, MI. The other night I was stamping with my Stampin’ Up! Up line Karen Barber and we used the Itty Bitty Background set, which I use to use all the time but haven’t pulled it out in at least a year. So today I used it to create a field of Flowers.
Let’s get started.. . . .
Supplies:
Stamps: Stampin’ Up! Itty Bitty Backgrounds and Seaon of Joy
Paper: Stampin’ Up! Whisper White, Apricot Appeal and Not Quite Navy
Ink: Stampin’ Up! Basic Gray, Apricot Appeal, Bordering Blue, Basic Black and Always Artichoke
Accessories: Versamark Pad, Sponges, Brayer, Clear embossing powder, Heat Gun, Very Vanilla Ribbon, Not Quite Navy Brads

These first few photos show me stamping images with Versamark on a 4″ x 5.5″ piece of Whisper White card stock so you will not be able to see the stamping until I start putting in the back ground.
The little flower stamp from the Stampin’ Up! set Season of Joy was stamped all over the bottom of the card stock with Versamark. Then I stamped the large dot stamp with versamark and then the small speckle stamp with Versamark. These two stamps are from the Stampin’ Up set Itty Bitty Backgrounds.
I heat embossed all the images with clear embossing powder and a heat gun.
Masked the sky area of the card-stock with two post it notes that have a torn edge and Brayered Always Artichoke ink at the bottom of the card stock.
Removed the post it note mask from the top of the card stock and used it to mask the bottom of the card stock.
Brayered Apricot Appeal ink at the top of the card stock.
Ripped a mountain shape in a post it note and sponged Bordering Blue ink in the open area to create a mountain.
Added some Basic Gray ink at the top of the mountain with a sponge.
Moved the post it note and sponged Basic Gray ink to create two more mountains.
Sponged Basic Gray ink at the bottom of the card stock.
Sponged Bordering Blue ink at the top of the card stock.
Sponged Basic Black ink around the edges of the card stock.
Added Very Vanilla Ribbon and Not Quite Navy Brads.
Assembled card and here it is completed measuring 5″ x 6.5″.
May your day be totally fabulous!
Until my next post. . . . . . . .
Huge Hugs,
Michelle

You don’t know how badly I would have loved to go to Portland this weekend! I’m a transplanted Wolverine living in enemy territory (a.k.a. Ohio) AND I grew up about 20 minutes from Portland! And now I’m learning you have all new projects for your workshops??? *sigh* Pray for me . . .
I love this idea! I really need to get some clear embossing powder since I have everything else! Have a safe trip, Mish!
Wow! That is beautiful. I love every projects you make.
Beautiful card, again. Who would have thought many of those flowers were just dots and speckles? You’re so creative.
Love it!
Very clever.
wow! I love it!

Michelle,
You are absolutely brilliant! I look at your site almost daily & I’m always saying to my husband “look, this is all stamping!” Just amazing stuff. And thank you for being so generous with your ideas & your time.
Beautiful scene. Very inviting.
I think you’ve outdone yourself. This is amazing! I love it.
Go Buckeyes!!!
Wow, today’s card is a beauty. Have a safe trip and thanks for the tutorial.
Wow. This is really stunning and very creative use of the itty bitty background stamps
Michelle,
Thank you for taking the time to show us how you make your beautiful cards. I love how you created your filed of flowers.
Linda
Love the card and the perspective with using the dots.
Who woulda thunk it!!! How you can get such a beautiful scene from Itty Bitty Backgrounds?? Well, I’m going to try this technique too! Michelle, wishing you a safe & fun trip to Michigan and thanking you for this tutorial! Tell the Hubby he can just root for the Texas Longhorns!
Another great card – thanks Michelle – have a safe trip!
Beautiful field of flowers! You are so creative Michelle.
This is beautiful!! Reminds me of “The Sound of Music” when they would sing “Edelweiss”…white flowers in the mountains of Austria!
Great!
Beautiful summery scene!
So lovely! Take care and come back soon to show us more of these, please!!!
Totally gorgeous. You never cease to amaze me with your wonderful designs.
This is such a clever use of the background stamps! I’m definately going to try this!

I can’t wait to do this – I even have all the stamps!!!!
I love this card! I think I even have all the supplies!
This is beautiful. I’m going to have to look at my tinier stamps with new eyes now.
Thank you.
Do you ever do workshops in Wisconsin?
Hey Michelle…great tutorial, as usual! I love the flower fields, so great!!! And don’t worry, you can BE in Michigan during the “big game” (after all, the team was there!) as long as you are rooting for the right team. lol! I grew up in SE OH and went to nursing school in Columbus and even though I haven’t lived in Ohio since 1977 I still smile when I see the Buckeyes handing Michigan their …um, well, let’s rephrase that. When I see OSU win??? lol! Jan
always fantastic your Workshops and your cards!
Thank you sooo much Michelle!
