2009 Non-Traditional Colored Christmas Card – Tutorial #285
Here is this year’s non-traditional colored Christmas card. I think I needed someone here to tell me to “STEP AWAY FROM THE BRADS”. Yes, I got a bit brad happy, lol.
I thought this would be nice for those people close to sandy beaches where it does not snow.
You lucky people. I am always doing snow scenes and that is probably a bit weird for someone to make that never sees snow. So here is one for you warm climate blog readers.
Let’s get started. . . . .

On a 4″ square piece of Whisper White, brayered Tempting Turquoise at the top and bottom of the card stock.
Stamped the Ornament from the Stampin’ Up! set “Delightful Decorations” using Bordering Blue.
Colored in the image using a Bordering Blue Marker.
On another piece of Whisper White card stock, stamped the Ornament again only this time using More Mustard ink.
Punched the Ornament out with the Ornament Punch.
Sponged Really Rust Ink around the edges of the Ornament.
Sponged Bravo Burgundy ink around the edges of the ornament, not covering the Really Rust ink entirely.
Added Basic Black ink with a sponged on the left side fo the ornament.
Adhered the Ornament to the card stock and added a hook to the shadow with a Bordering Blue marker and a hook to the colored ornament with a Gold gel pen.
Cut the card stock down to 3″ square and punched the corners with a ticket corner punch.
Used a Gold Paint Marker to edge my panels with.
Ran the Tempting Turquoise panel through my Big Shot Machine using the Flourish Texture Plate.
Punched 4 small photo corners from Tempting Turquoise card stock and edged them using the gold paint marker.
Added the Dusty Durango ribbon, gold brads and the photo corners.
Here is the finished card measuring 5.25″ square.
May you be safe and warm today.
Until my next post. . . . . .
Hugs,
Michelle

Love this design. I’ve been making xmas cards and I don’t know if I’ll be done in time. lol
I’ve used my cricut alot, shame on me for not stamping too many.
Hey, Michelle, the brads give it that certain Christmas bling!
Absolutely LOVE it! This is definitely something that I would attempt. Thanks again for such a great tutorial.
Wow! You are amazing. Another gorgeous card. Thanks for the wonderful tutorials.

Loving this, thank you
Pretty color combination. Love the shadow of the ornament. Cool, hugs… from snowy IA
YEAH – a snow day!
What a great card. I love the colours.
Beep Beep Beep!!! Wowzer, you just set off the metal detecter with all those brads! Just kidding! What an amazing concept using those colors for a Christmas card but ….it works!!! You brought life to this scene by using your make a shadow technique. Awesome, simply awesome!
very nice Michele, I love it!
Sandra
I like it…and I like the brads. It makes it look like the ornament is “hanging” in the center of the brads. You have a GREAT eye for design; never doubt that. I wish you would come to the East Coast of South Florida…Stuart; West Palm Beach; Boca Raton; Fort Lauderdale…take your pick…just COME!!!
cool effect with the shadow and I like the brads
regarding snow, I lived in Arizona for about ten years, but I still loved snow. I just didn’t get to see it most of the time
I was incredible when I did tho. You should see the desert covered in snow, absolutely phenomenal. A couple of years I made Christmas cards with a saguaro covered in snow and lights on it
Very pretty. I love all the brads. It’s snowing at my house with temps in the 20s. Brrrr……but much better than the high winds we had yesterday. I love the colors you choose to use on all your artwork. Can’t wait until the next piece of art is revealed. I had one question ? What size are the big shot embossing plates ? Thanks, Becky
Oh Michelle, this is so cool. I love the shadow. The gold edges finish it off nicely.
I love this. It has my two most favorite color combinations.

love it, but i don’t have these tools
I always was concerned in this topic and still am, regards for posting .
