Altered Rolodex Birthday Reminder
Sorry, no tutorial today. But I do have a project to share.
Well yesterday I took a look at my “to do” list and seen this project that has been on the list for, oh, about 6 months, lol. So instead of carrying it forward once again to my new to do list I actually sat down and went to work. I purchased this rolodex at an office supply store, on sale, of course and decided to turn it into a birthday reminder. I created a scene for each month, starting out by cutting 12 (one for each month) index card die cuts out of Whisper White card stock using my Big Shot machine.
This project took me about 4 hours to complete. I tried to create each card in 15-20 minutes. Most came together in under 1o. If I didn’t time myself this project could have taken me forever to make, lol.
All Stamps, ink and accessories (other than Rolodex) by Stampin’ Up.
Since I don’t own stamps that have the names of the months on them, I computer generated them for use on my tabs.
When I completed a month I would stamp the totally tabs stamp over the month name using a coordinating color and then punch it out using my Tab punch.
Below are the scenes I created for each month.
There are index cards behind each month card with the birthdays for that month on them. Let’s hope this will help me get cards out on time.
I think I will pick another Rolodex and alter it too, only next time use it as an address Rolodex, novel idea, huh, lol.
May your day be filled with nothing but happiness.
Huge Hugs and Happy Holidays,
Michelle

How stinkin’ cute is this. You are a genius!
WOW!!! I really, really, really love this! Maybe after taking your class I will feel confident enough to make my own
This is just the best rolodex ever! If I start now, I may get some of these made for next year’s Christmas gifts (no I’m not kidding). Thanks again for another ingenious idea.
You are amazing – I may get brave and bayer one day soon….in the new year maybe – I’ll turn over a whole new tree instead of just a leaf! These are gorgeous and I can’t believe that you could do it in only 4 hours – you’re my hero.
it’s beautiful !
Hi Michelle
This is a very clever and inspiring project. Fantastic work as usual!
Michelle,
This is a fabulous gift idea! I’m impressed, as always. It’s fun to see how you can “shrink” your techniques into the small size Rolodex cards.
Have a wonderful Christmas,
Niki

Wow! I am always in awe of what you create. This is magnificent and a fabulous idea.
Great idea and so beautiful too. I would like to have something like this to store my already made cards in too as well as the address and names in.
Love this! It’s been on my to-do list for a long time also! Each month is beautiful!
What a talented lady you are!!!! I love, love , love this!
Love it, LOVE it, LOVE IT !!!
What a cool idea. This is something that will be very useful and give me many ways to incorporate my “Michelle Class”. I can also see a matching small calendar in the works. I don’t have the die but can easily find the materials needed at the local office supply store. A great WINTER project!!!
Thanks bunches,
OH wow this is fabulous! I’ve made rolodex before and love them. I have that die too. I have got to sit down and actually try and make some cards from what I learned in your class last month. This will probably carry over into my “to do” list for next year.
Michelle, what a great idea and what a great demo you are! Even though I’m a CTMH consultant I keep finding S-U items I simply must have. I just added the label punch & stamp to my list of “gotta haves”
Have a wonderful Christmas and I wish you all the best for the new year
truly beautiful! love each and every month!

This idea is brilliant!!!! Love how you put it together. Goes on my to do list for next Christmas. I am all done with this year’s projects.
One would want to check up on birthdays that are in each month just as an excuse to look at all the beautiful scenes you have created in this project!!! Every one is a gorgeous work of art!!
BRILLIANT!! Really cool idea, really creative & very inspirational!! Hey Michelle, thanks for the Christmas card! That was very thoughtful & a special surprise! Merry Christmas to you, Russ, sons & granddaughter!!
Love it! I need a birthday reminder too, and this idea is perfect. I knew I was keeping that old rolodex for a reason!
I’ve been using the skills I learned in your classes to make some brayered Christmas cards. Thanks for sharing your creativity – you’re a real inspiration.
What joy you must feel to have accomplished this beautiful way of keeping track of important dates. Hope it compares to the joy you give all of us who are fortunate enough to share in your talents. Merry Christmas!

Had to rush out and buy a Rolodex to make one of these. What a great gift idea and love all the 12 month pictures. Will share when I finish mine! Thanks again for such great inspiration. PS would be a great ANYTIME gift! Nancy
I love this idea! I really need to get that rolodex die. It has endless possibilities!
Every month is a mini-masterpiece! TFS!!
Twelve designs instead of one card, no wonder you procrastinated. The birthday reminder turned out great.
How fun is that!?!? I am going to have to re-look at this post a few times to make sure I didn’t miss anything. It’s like 12 inspirations pieces in only one post! Whoo hoo! Now I’m thinking of how I can jazz up some organizational piece of mine for the new year…..
Nice project! I love how you decorated each of the dividers!
