Snowboarding II – Tutorial #295
Put away Christmas Decorations, Check. Re-pot house plants, Check. Replace 3 throw rugs the dogs tore up in your absence, Check. Give the dogs a stern lecture about the new throw rugs as they sit smiling at you, Check! Well that is a bit how my day has went. Thank goodness I have my stamp room to retreat to.
Ready for today’s tutorial, I sure am, LOL.
You know how your project turns out when you get stray embossing powder on it and heat it that way, yuck. Well this project uses embossing powder in that manner, but on purpose. See the snow coming off of this snowboarders board.
Hang out a few moments and check it out.
Let’s get started. . . . . . .
Supplies:
| Stamps: Stampin’ Up! Extreme Snowboarding |
| Paper: Stampin’ Up! Whisper White, Basic Black, Not Quite Navy and Stampin’ Up Designer Paper |

Sponged a bit of Versamark on a 3.5″ x 5″ Piece of Whisper White card stock. Put clear embossing powder on the card stock. Held the card stock up to a lamp and brushed a bit of the embossing powder off. I wanted it to look scattered a bit, not bit bloaches. Heated the embossing powder with a heat gun. I know you cannot see where I put the Versamark or the Clear embossing powder. You will be able to see it appear in the next photo.
Brayered Bashful Blue ink at the bottom of the card stock and brayered almost to the top of the cardstock.
Ripped some mountain shapes into a post it note and used it as a mask to create my mountains.
Sponed Bordering Blue ink in the unmasked area.
Moved the post it note mask and Sponge Not Quite Navy ink to create the second line of mountains.
Moved the post it note mask a third time and sponged Night of navy ink for the third line of mountains.
Swiped the ink from the heat embossing with an old cotton towel.
Used a Stamp-a-ma-jig for placement and stamped the Extreme Snowboard stamp in Basic Black ink.
Used the post it note mask for a fourth time and added a hill by sponging Basic Black ink on the right lower corner.
Added White Gel Pen to a couple of the mountain peaks.
Ripped the top off of the main image panel. Assembled card front and added Basic Black Photo Corner Punches and Not Quite Navy Brads.
Here is the finished card measuring 5″ x 6.5″.
May you have a stress free day!
Until my next post. . . . . . . . . . . . ..
Hugs,
Michelle

So cool, awesome! I just came home from work and wanted to de-stress a little. I know what to do: try this out! Thanks a lot Michelle! Such a pity you cannot come and do a class here in Holland! I see I am not the only one that regrets……..
Do’nt be too harsh on the dogs please, I guess they missed you!
Just think, it was not for the “DOGS” in our family we would not change things out and redecorate as much!! LOL
Love the card and the snow affect…as always, thanks for sharing
Brilliant!
Awesome artwork! I thought it was a surfer until I read about the snowboarder. Either way, it’s great vision.
Lovely as usual…thanks Michelle!

I love this effect. The mountains are wonderful and I love how it looks like there’s snow coming off the snowboard! That one really had me stumped until I read the tutorial. It looks so real. Wonderful job!!!!
Stunning!!! I am amazed and delighted. How do you brayer that there are no marks showing where you start or where it ends (if that makes any sense)?
Hi Michelle,
