Day of Gratitude – Tutorial #366

Today’s card was made for my Stampin’ Up! Down Line Team’s Technique Swap.  This months technique was Emboss Resist.   Love playing with this technique and I use it any time I need  a light image in front of a dark background.  This is simple to do and fun to boot.  Check it out.  🙂

Stamped the Medallion from the Stampin’ Up set Day of Gratitude, item number 121148, by first loading the stamp with Versamark, then loading it with Daffodil Delight ink, then using the corner of the Cajun Craze ink pad, patted it on the stamp all the way around, leaving the center light, then added Rich Razzleberry Ink using only the corner of the pad and patted it all the way around the edge of the stamp, then I stamped the image on a 4″ square piece of Whisper White card stock.

Heat embossed the image using clear embossing powder and a heat gun.

Now that my image is heat embossed it will protect the colors on the image.  Sponged Rich Razzleberry ink in the center of the image.

Sponged Cajun Craze up to the Rich Razzleberry sponging.

Sponged Rich Razzelberry ink around the outside of the Madallion.

Stamped the flowers from the Stampin’ Up set Day of Gratitude around the edge of the card stock using Basic Black ink.

Added White Gel pen dots around the edge of the Medallion.

Punched Basic Black Photo corners.

Added Basic Black and Cajun Craze card stock panels, silver brads, the Basic Black Photo Corners and a flower brad in the center of the Medallion.

Here is the finished card measuring 5.5″ square.

I hope this tutorial has inspired you to play a bit with the Emboss Resist technique.  You won’t regret it!

Until my next post. . . . .  .

Hugs,

Michelle
