Breaking the Bank – Tutorial #445

Hey there,

This card came to mind yesterday right as I was leaving the car dealership after having some work done on my van.  “Ouch” says my wallet.    Actually, this little scene came to my mind the minute I seen this cute little pig in the Stampin’ Up! catalog.

Any suggestion on a sentiment for this card?  I would love to hear them.

Also, is this really a sheep, not a pig, lol.  Well my apples on my last post were really pears, yikes!  Funny what a mind tells you, grin.  🙂

Before I start the tutorial I want to announce a few Brayer and  Direct to Paper workshop locations I have added to my calendar.   Check it out by clicking on the location, I will be in Sparta, New Jersey,  Piedmont, Alabama and Longmont (Gunbarrel), Colorado!  Woohoo!  I hope you get the chance to attend and create with me.

Stamped the hammer (ommitted the sentiment) using Basic Black in on a scrap piece of Whisper White cardstock.

On the same scrap of card stock, stamped the pig using Melon Mambo ink.

Cut the two images out using my super sharp Stampin’ Up! paper snips.  Love these scissors!

Colored the hammer in with Sahara Sand and Soft Suede markers.

Added a shadow to the bottom of the pig using a Rose Red marker.  Colored in his eyes and nose holes using a Basic Black marker.  Added a pink button for his snout.

Added a line on the top of his head as the bank slot and added Basic Black marker to the bottom of his feet.

Masked the bottom 1 1/2″ of a 3.5″ x 4.5″ piece of Whisper White card stock with a post it note.

Brayered Lucky Limeade ink on the unmasked area.

Stamped my unmounted Baroque Border wheel using Rich Razzelberry ink.

Sponged Old Olive ink at the bottom of the unmasked area.

Removed the mask and turned it around so it is masking the top of the card stock.

Brayered Rich Razzelberry ink on the unmasked area.

Sponged Early Espresso ink at the top of the unmasked area.

Moved the post it note mask down a bit and sponged a shadow in for the pig.

Added 2 Melon Mambo and 1 Lucky Limeade panels, adhered the pig and hammer, colored the hammer head in using a Silver gel pen, added tiny brads to simulate coins.

Added a 5″ x 6.5″ Rich Razzelberry panel.

Here is the finished project measuring 5″ x 6.5″.

May your bank not be broken!

Until my next post. . .  . . . . .

Hugs,

Michelle
