Butterfly Love – Tutorial #490

Hey There,

I’m home again after a wonderful trip to Seattle, Washington.  Here is a shout out to my wonderful students that I had over the weekend.  Brayer on dear friends!

Now that I am back, I’m ready to create.  How about an anniversary card?  Well I have one for you today.   Although you could put any word on the front of this.  Think outside the box and put someone’s name on it and use it for a birthday card.

This card is very Spring like.  Since we are in the middle of Winter, I guess I’m just hoping for some warm weather.  🙂

I love to brayer in my backgrounds for garden scenes leaving one side of the card stock very light.  This gives you such a wonderful light effect.    Also, I brought out one of my all time favorite stamp sets from the current Stampin’ Up catalog, Baroque Motifs.  What an awesome flourish this set has.   No garden is complete without a butterfly which is in the beautiful Stampin’ Up set Summer Solstice.

Die Cut my “Love” sentiment using the Timeless Type Alphabet Dies and the Big Shot Machine out of Old Olive Card Stock.

Brayered Tempting Turquoise on a 3.25″ x 7.5″ piece of Whisper White Card Stock.

Brayer Not Quite Navy ink on the card stock, not covering the Tempting Turquoise entirely.

Stamped the Baroque Motifs Flourish on the card stock twice using Old Olive ink.

Stamped the flower from the Baroque Motifs set using Tangerine Tango ink.

Added White Gel Pen ink to the flourish to highlight it.

Added a bit of Basic Black marker the flourish to create some shadow.

Adhered the die cut letter to the main image panel and added White Gel pen highlights to it.

Stamped the flower on Whisper White card stock using Tangerine Tango ink.

Cut the flower out and added it to the center of the “O” using an Old Olive brad.

Stamped the Butterfly on a piece of Whisper White card stock using Stazon Jet Black ink.  Colored the butter using Tempting Turquoise and Tangerine Tango markers.

Cut the butterfly out and adhered it to the card stock using Stampin’ Dimensionals to pop it up.

Added an 8.5″ x 3.25″ Old Olive Panel, 4″ x 9″ Basic Black panel, 1/2 of a Basic Black Curly Lable Punch to each side of the main image panel and a 1/8″ strip of Basic Black card stock.

Added In Color Printed Designer Brads to the Curly Label Punches.

Here is the finished card measuring 4″ x 9″.  This size card will fit into a #10 size office envelop.

May you stay warm and happy today.

Until my next post. . . . .  . . .
