Chick Update

Hey There,

Well a little update on my husband Russ.  His heart surgery went very well and he is now home recovering.  Woohoo!  We will know more about it’s success in a couple of weeks.  Keep your fingers and eyes crossed for us, lol.   Thank you for all of your well wishes and prayers!

Another update, how about these chicks.   Let me introduce them again to you since they have changed so very much in the past 7 weeks.

This is Red at week 1 and at week 7 with the same stamps so you can check out how much she has grown. . . . . . . . . . .

Hello, tap, tap, tap, are you out there. . . . . .

How about a back view . . . . .    These stamps make great perches.

Here I am doing my model pose.   This is my good side, right?

********************************************************************************

My name is Buffy, I don’t slay vampires, just spiders.   Buffy at week 1 and 7.

My feathers are sooooo soft and I love to be held.

These are my very big chicken feet.

**************************************************************************

I’m Sophie the black beauty!   I’m very hard to photograph since I’m all black now.    Here I am at week 1 and 7.

See how long and sleek I can make my neck look.   This is a trick so you don’t see any double chins, lol.

***************************************************************************

I’m the most exotic looking chick.   My name is Bunny.  That’s right, don’t laugh.   I’m an Easter Egger so that is why my name is Bunny.  I’ll lay either green or blue eggs when I’m all grown up.  Which color won’t be known until the first egg is laid.

Bunny at week 1 and 7.

We are actually inside the house in this small box until the temp outside drops below 100 degrees.   Air conditioning is the bomb!

Now it is time for our Mommy to clean her desk, lol.

Cheep, Cheep!

Stay cool.

Until my next post.

Hugs,

Michelle

  14. I am so glad that your husband is doing better! I often think about what if that was me when I hear about others trials. I can not even imagine what it would be like to not have my sweet love! I enjoy your blog and your wonderful art. I think you and I could be good friends we seem to have a great deal in common. I have recently retired from being a teacher and then school administrator. My husband is the Head Mens basketball coach here in LIttle Elm High School. ( Close to Dallas) I have enjoyed being home and my crafting and card making has sure helped me to feel welcomed here and make new friends. I am not sure where you live but, if you feel comfortable giving me your mailing address, I would like to send you some of my cards just for fun. Maybe we can become on line stamping friends! I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers ! I LOVE THE CHICKS! And glad they like to stamp too! HA! Debbie

So glad to hear that your husband is doing well. Thank goodness for modern medicine, concern by others, and the Great Healer.

    Cute pictures of your chicks.

  22. Pat Jandacek

So good to hear Russ is doing well enough to be released from the hospital – home is always a much better place to be. Prayers will continue for complete and speedy recovery. The changes in your chicks are incredible, cute then, handsome now. Were you teasing about the colored eggs Bunny will lay or have they actually engineered that now? I’m looking forward to receiving my order placed through your website on July 7th….several items I’ve been wanting for sometime now, especially the tulip e.f. Keep cool!

  23. i just started raising chickens a couple of years ago. i have Al three breeds you hanger and then some. i wanted to most you know that the first chick it’s a specked Sussex, and Bunny is a true ameraucana. you can tell because she has”sideburns”. you can also tell what color eggs she’ll lay by the color off her legs. it likes looked they’ll be dark green.
you might try using Photoshop for additional chicken photo fun. I’ve put photos of my hens in outer space, in bikinis, and over dressed as George Washington. out doesn’t seem to bother my chickens.:-)

  24. Obviously, I have not been keeping up well with my favorite blogs….had no idea about Russ’ surgery OR the new chicks. Good news all the way around. And a special chicken who can lay colored eggs? Sounds like Bunny is the perfect name for her. Amazing…almost as amazing as heart surgery, hope Russ continues to recuperate and that the surgery does the trick for a return to good health!

Awesome pics, Michelle! I need to borrow Buffy tonight! The reason I’m up so late is that I was laying in bed and turned on the light to find a spider on the ceiling looking down at me. (EEEK!!) I got my handy dandy electric fly swatter and took care of it, but it’s kinda freaked me out about turning out the lights and trying to sleep again… Buffy, I need you!!

  31. Michelle Montague
