She Thinks My Tractors Sexy – Tutorial #567

Hello There,

Check it out, I’ve used the Stampin’ Up! set Harvest Blessings to create this farm scene.   In this tutorial I will show you how to put a field in and create a very dramatic sky.  I hope you enjoy the scene and give this project a try.  🙂

If you’re not a country music fan than you probably don’t get the title to this post.   It’s a song title from one of Kenny Chesney’s songs.  Gotta love country music!

Now on with today’s tutorial. . . . .  . .

Project Supplies:

Stampin’ Up! Stamps: Harvest Blessings (item number 126452) and the new Sale-a-bration set Pretty Petites (available starting tomorrow, January 22, 2013, item number 129642)

Card Stock: Stampin’ Up! Whisper White, Basic Black and Gumball Green

Ink: Stampin’ Up! Basic Black, Early Espresso, Soft Suede, More Mustard, Cajun Craze and Daffodil Delight

Accessories: Stampin’ Up! sponges, Brayer, Basic Black, Gumball Green, Lucky Limeade and Sahara Sand markers, Curly Label Punch, Sale-a-bration Petite Curly Label Punch (available starting tomorrow, January 22, 2013)

Started with a 3.75″ x 5″ piece of Whisper White card stock and tore a post it note and masked to create the foreground ground area.

Sponged Cajun Craze ink in the unmasked area at the bottom of the card stock.

Used a straight edge post it note and sponged Early Espresso ink at the edge of it to create the field lines.

Sponged Early Espresso ink at the edge of the post it note to darken the top of the field.

Removed the mask and added a tore new one to create the field in the distance.  Sponged Cajun Craze ink in very lightly.

Added faint Early Espresso lines in the distant field with a Sponge and additional post it note.

Stamped the Tractor from the Harvest Blessings stamp set using Basic Black ink.

Colored the tracker using Lucky Limeade and Sahara Sand markers.

Added Basic Black marker to the tires.

Added Gumball Green marker to the trackers shadow areas.

Brayered Daffodil Delight ink in the sky area.

Brayered More Mustard ink in the sky area not covering the Daffodil Delight ink entirely.

Brayered Cajun Craze ink in at the top of the card stock.

Smeared Sahara Sand ink directly on the card stock using the edge of the ink pad in the sky area from both the left and right sides.

Added a 2 Basic Black and 1 Gumball Green card stock panels.   Also added a Curly Label punched from Basic Black card stock and then stamped my sentiment with Cajun Craze and punched it out using the petite curly label punch.    Added the sentiment punches using Stampin’ Dimensionals to pop it up.

Added Gold brads in the corners of the main image panel and a Whisper White card base.

Here is the finished card measuring 4.25″ x 5.5″.

Have a terrific Martin Luther King Day.
