Elephant Baby Card – Tutorial #572

Hello There,

Today I was looking through my cards to see what occasions I was running low on and low and behold I needed baby cards.   Well, this gave me the opportunity to show you the brand new Stampin’ Up! Spring Catalog set “Henry Says” item number 128093.   This set is one of the versatile sets that you can use for many occasions.  You will get lots of use out of this one.

Now on with today’s tutorial. . . . .  . .

Project Supplies:

Card Stock: Stampin’ Up! Henry Says” item number 128093 , Friendly Phrases (item # 126151), Confetti (item #120465), Everything Eleanor (item #124164)

Ink: Stampin’ Up! Marina Mist, Not Quite Navy, Old Olive, Soft Suede, Basic Black, Primrose Petal, Whisper White and Stazon Jet Black

Accessories: Stampin’ Up! sponges, Aqua Painter, Whisper White Organza Ribbon, White Gel Pen, Pretty in Pink marker, Perfect Polka Dots Embossing Folder

Stamped the elephant with Stazon Jet Black ink onto a piece of Crumb Cake Polka Dot DSP.

Added shadows with my Aqua Painter dipped into the ink on the lid of my Soft Suede ink pad.  To get a puddle of ink on the lid squeeze the lid into the ink pad while the pad is closed.

Colored the elephant’s toe nails using a Pretty in Pink marker.  Cut the elephant out.

Cut a 3″ x 6″ piece of Bashful Blue card stock and sponged Old Olive ink at the bottom of the card stock followed by sponging Basic Black ink at the very bottom of the ground area.

Drug the Marina Mist ink pad across the sky area of the scene.

Added a little Not Quite Navy ink to the sky by dragging the ink pad across the card stock lightly.

Added a couple wispy clouds by dragging the edge of a Whisper White ink pad across the card stock.

Stamped the flourish from the Everything Eleanor set using Marina Mist ink.   I did not ink the entire stamp up.   The curly end of the design was omitted.

Stamped the flowers from the Confetti set over the flourish using Primrose Petal ink.  Adhered the elephant to the card stock using Stampin’ Dimensionals to pop it up.

Stamped the sentiment from the Friendly Phrases set using Stazon Jet Black ink.

Sponged Not Quite Navy ink around the edges of the card stock.

Cut a 8.75″ x 3.75″ piece of Whisper White card stock.   Embossed it using the Perfect polka dots embossing folder.   I had to run the card stock through twice to cover the entire area.   Note when running it through I did not crank it all the way through so it does not leave a crease line in the middle.  Took it out and repositioned it, lining the dots up.

Added a Certainly Celery card base that measures 8″ x 9″ folded in half, a 6.25″ x 3.25″ panel of Certainly Celery and a Whisper White ribbon.

Here is the finished card that can be used for either a boy or a girl.  🙂

Until my next post. . . . . .
