Wetlands 2 – Stampin’ Up! Card Tutorial #614

Hey There,

I’m continuing on this week using the Stampin’ Up! Wetlands stamp set.  I think I could use this set for a month straight.  I love it that much.   I wanted a warm golden look to this card so I worked with the colors Crushed Curry and Soft Suede.  Very warm tones indeed.  Check out the tutorial for this project below.

Now on with today’s tutorial. . . . .  . .

Project Supplies:

Stamps: Stampin’ Up! Wetlands (item #126697)

Card Stock: Stampin’ Up! Whisper White, Crushed Curry and Soft Suede. Also, DSP from the Stampin’ Up! Neutrals Pattern Stack (item #117157).

Ink: Stampin’ Up! Crushed Curry, Soft Suede and Early Espresso

Accessories: Stampin’ Up!  Brayer, Neutral Candy Dots, Sponges and a post it note, 1 3/8″ circle punch, White Gel Pen, Stampin’ Dimensionals, Square Lattice Embossing Folder and  Big Shot Machine

Started with a 3″ x 4″ piece of Whisper White card stock.  Masked for the sun using a 1 3/8″ circle punched from the stick part of a post it note.   Brayered Crushed Curry ink at the top and then at the bottom of the card stock.

Brayered Soft Suede at the bottom of the card stock.

Removed the sun mask and sponged Crushed Curry ink in the sun.

Stamped the birds from the Stampin’ Up! Wetlands set using Early Espresso ink.

Stamped the grasses stamp from the Wetland set using Early Espresso ink.

Highlighted the underside of the birds and the grasses using a White Gel pen.

Sponged Soft Suede ink around the edges of the card stock.

Cut a 4″ x 5.25″ piece of Crushed Curry card stock, embossed it using the Square Lattice embossing folder and Big Shot Machine and then Brayered Soft Suede ink over the embossed image to grunge it up a bit and to tone down the Crushed Curry a little.

Added 3 DSP strips that measure 1/2″ x 4″ and a 4.25″ x 5.5″ Soft Suede card stock panel.

Added a 4.24″ x 3.25″ Soft Suede panel to the back of the main image panel.  Also added Crumb Cake Candy Dots to the corners of the main image panel.

Added a Whisper White card base and popped the main image panels up on the front of the card using Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Here is the finished card measuring 4.25″ x 5.5″.

Well I’m off on another adventure today with my Grand Daughter, Hailie Jade.

May your day be filled with warm light.

Until my next post. . . . . .

Huge Hugs!

  1. A formidable share, I simply given this onto a colleague who was doing a little evaluation on this. And he in truth purchased me breakfast because I discovered it for him.. smile. So let me reword that: Thnx for the treat! However yeah Thnkx for spending the time to discuss this, I really feel strongly about it and love studying extra on this topic. If doable, as you grow to be experience, would you mind updating your blog with extra details? It is highly useful for me. Big thumb up for this weblog post!

I was so waiting to see if you were going to use this set. When I saw it I knew you would. Like it a lot. The last one was also great like this with the birds. Thanks for sharing as always.
