Wetlands 3 – Stampin’ Up! Tutorial #615

Hey There,

Happy Monday! Actually, I’m trying to cheer myself up today.  I had to return my fun and beautiful 9 year old Grand Daughter, Hailie Jade to her Mother yesterday after having her here with me for 2 weeks.  She is so full of life and giggles, I miss her so!  Waaaahhhaaa. . . . . . . . It’s tough having a grand child that lives out of state.

Anyway, it’s back to just me and this big baby, Luke in the garden this morning.  It’s hard to be sad for long when you have this guy looking at you.  🙂  What a character. . . . did someone say snack?

Here is an updated pic of one of the garden beds.  I swear it is going to bust at the seams along with the other veggie beds.  Zucchini, squash, beets, turnips, lettuce, radishes, kale, onions and carrots are all overflowing. . . . mmmmmm

But, I bet you want to see the tutorial on today’s project shown above, right?  I’ve decided to use the Stampin’ Up! Wetlands stamp set one more time before I put it back on the storage shelf.  Check out the tutorial below.

Now on with today’s tutorial. . . . .  . .

Project Supplies:

Stamps: Stampin’ Up! Wetlands (item #126697)

Card Stock: Stampin’ Up! Whisper White, Basic Black and Soft Suede

Ink: Stampin’ Up! Coastal Cabana, Bermuda Bay, Island Indigo, Old Olive, Soft Suede and Stazon Jet Black

Accessories: Stampin’ Up!  Brayer, sponges, white gel pen, Stampin’ Write Markers (Basic Black, Sahara Sand, Crumb Cake and Soft Suede), post it note

Started with a 3″ x 4.25″ piece of Whisper White card stock.  Brayered Coastal Cabana ink a little over half of the top of the card stock.  Brayered Coastal Cabana ink 1/4 of the card stock at the bottom of the card stock.

Brayered Bermuda Bay ink at the top and bottom of the card stock, not covering the Coastal Cabana ink entirely.

Brayed just a little bit of Island Indigo ink at the top and bottom of the card stock.

Stamped the Canadian Goose from the Stampin’ Up! Wetlands Stamp Set using Stazon Jet Black ink.

Masked the bottom of the card stock with a post it note and sponged Old Olive ink over the grassy area.

Sponged just a little Soft Suede ink at the post it note edge over the Old Olive.

Removed the post it note mask.  Darkened the neck and head of the goose with a Basic Black marker and colored over the rest of the goose using a Sahara Sand marker.

Added Crumb Cake marker to the back and belly of the goose and then blended it in using the Sahara Sand marker.

Added White gel pen to the head, chest, grasses and water lines in the water.

Darkened the back just a bit with a Soft Suede marker and then blended it in using the Sahara Sand marker.

Kept this layout super clean to show off the scene.   Added Basic Black, Whisper White and Soft Suede panel.

Here is the finished card measuring 4.25″ x 5.5″.

May your day be totally terrific.

Until my next post. . . . . .

Huge Hugs!
