On Another note. . . . .
This is Lily all caged up. She has gone broody and wants to sit on the nest and hatch eggs. When a chicken gets like this there is no keeping her off of the nest and they quit laying eggs. They also get a bit of a nasty temperament. See how puffed up she is. Some chickens will stay like this for months unless you break them, which I am attempting to do by caging her up away from the coop and the nesting boxes.
I don’t need anymore chickens this year so this is my solution to get her back to normal and laying eggs again.
Of course, all the other girls have to check out her place, even a couple of the chicks on the right are wondering what the heck is going on. Even though poor Lily is in confinement she has lots of company. The flock is standing by her side in solidarity.
So that’s what’s happening at the coop.
