Beautiful Birthday – Stampin’ Up! Card

Hello there,

Well I’m back in my studio after a whirl wind cruise to the Mediterranean. It was a trip of a lifetime but 10 days away from home makes for lots of catching up on stuff. I’m taking a break from the garden, laundry etc in order to get some chill time in my stamp room.

Today’s project has an all sponged background with light and dark areas for some real drama. I hope you like it!

Silver Moon – Stampin’ Up! Card

Hello there,

There is something peaceful about a pond with waterlilies. I made mine pop by putting the pale yellow flowers against a dark background. Be careful not to be skimpy with your ink when creating your backgrounds it really makes a difference. 🙂

Sea Turtles – Stampin’ Up! Card

Hello there,

A little bit of play on light (light areas and dark areas) can really make your scenes. It created a peaceful ocean scene with those turtles just cruising by. Stampin’ Up! inks and sponges made quick work of that background too.

Sometimes my cards all seem a bit serious for the little ones on my card list so I created today’s card to fill that gap. Gotta love this frog with his goofy grin from the Stampin’ Up! You’re Sublime stamp set. The balloon and it’s shading was made super simply with the Stampin’ Up! Balloon Celebration stamp set. I think they make the perfect pair!

Watercolor Dragonfly – Stampin’ Up! Card

Hello there,

I wanted a very soft looking card today and when I think of a soft scene, I think of watercolor. Stampin’ Up! has the best tool for watercolor, the Aqua Painter. You can get some very nice watercolor results using the Aqua Painter, watercolor paper and Stampin’ Up! ink. Tip: to get a nice soft watercolor look without hard lines, start with your watercolor paper wet and it’s super easy. 🙂
