Leaves Bathed in Light – Stampin’ Up! Card

DSC_0017

Hello there,

Light coming through leaves are for some reason calming and comforting.  It’s a wonderful image to have on a Sympathy card.  I created this branch of leaves using the Stampin’ Up! Vintage Leaves stamp set (item 138802).  I used some simple coloring techniques in order to make the leaves look more realistic.

YOU CAN SEE JUST HOW TODAY’S PROJECT WAS CREATED IN TODAY’S STEP BY STEP TUTORIAL.  SEE HOW TO GET IT AND 11 OTHER TUTORIALS FROM THIS MONTH FREE BELOW.  LEARN TECHNIQUES YOU CAN APPLY TO YOUR OTHER STAMPING PROJECTS AS WELL.

On Another Note. . . . .

This Summer has been a wacky kind of busy 3 months.  My garden has done really well and therefore, I have been super busy putting up all of the fruits of my labor.
Here are a few photos of what I have been up to. . . . . .

My peach trees are too small to get much fruit from so I picked up some really good peaches from a road side stand and canned peaches, peach salsa, peach jam and started some peach wine.

I grew corn for the first time this year.  :)

I’m still canning pasta sauce, tomatoes and salsa and will be until the tomato plants give up for the summer.
Screen Shot 2016-08-29 at 3.05.21 PM
Fresh basil made up a lot of wonderful pesto for the freezer.
Screen Shot 2016-08-29 at 3.05.28 PM
I snuck in some canning of chicken broth one day when the canner was sitting still at a rare moment from the veggies.
Screen Shot 2016-08-29 at 3.05.38 PM
Bumper crop of green beens, so many that I canned up all we could possibly eat and then started giving them away.  Candied Jalapeños too, mmm.
There is really not very many days that I don’t have my canner going so there is so much more that I have canned up this season that I didn’t take photos of.  Needless to say it has been a terrific garden season!

Also I’ve been playing mommy to 1o new baby chicks.  Sadie thinks they make for great kitty tv.  :)
So please forgive me if I haven’t shared much about what has been happening around here lately,  like I said, it has been a crazy kind of busy Summer.  Now back to the garden. . .
Tell me do you garden and put up what you grow?

HAVE A SUPER FANTASTIC DAY!

Huge Hugs,

  1. Holy cow!!! I am super impressed with your pantry! You have gathered a wonderful bounty from your garden, and it will serve you well this winter! I loved helping my Grandmother can when I was young (decades ago) and am not physically able right now. But maybe someday I will. I would love doing that! Kudos to YOU!!

Hello I too was very impressed by your bounty. I live in Australia so our seasons are reversed it is almost spring and I will soon be planting would love to learn how to preserve my vegs as you do would appreciate any instructions you could give me. Love your creations with card making.

  3. Your card is beautiful, Michele! And, I’m amazed by the bounty of your garden!! I know it’s a lot of work, but isn’t it wonderful to open those jars in the middle of winter and enjoy the homegrown taste!
