Kitchen Time – Sausage Buiscuits and Sweet Pickles

Hello There,

Sorry, no stamping today.

I haven’t blogged much about the happenings in my kitchen of late and it’s just because I haven’t had the time to do much in it.  But then I went into the grocery yesterday and the butcher was marking down the fresh ground turkey packages from $4.59 to $1.99.  Guess what, I stood there until he put the last mark down sticker on and put all 5 packages of it in my cart.  5 lbs of fresh ground turkey for under $10, you bet I bought it all.

It’s these buys that I am always looking for to make my freezer meals out of.  So, today I turned that ground turkey into turkey sausage.  Click here for the link to the recipe.

After I seasoned the ground turkey I made patties out of it and fried it.

While the turkey sausage patties cooled I made some biscuits from scratch.  Click here for the biscuit recipe I used.

Put the sausage biscuits together and food saved them (wrap in plastic wrap and then place in a freezer bag if you don’t have a food saver).  Into the freezer they go.  When we want to eat them we microwave them.  7 breakfasts done for my darling husband and I.  This will also keep Russ from stopping at McDonald’s on his way to work when I am too busy stamping out my latest project to make him breakfast.  Yes, I confess, many a day you can find me stamping in the wee hours of the morning.

The remainder of the sausage patties get packaged up and froze.  7 more packages in the freezer.  Nice to pull out heat and eat as is, broken up into omlets, breakfast burritos etc.  Being fully cooked means no messy pan to deal with when you are in a hurry.

14 items in my freezer for $15 ($10 for turkey, $3 for spices and $2 for biscuits).  Not bad.  :)   Yes I confess, I’m a freezer meal junky, lol.  This type of thing rocks my world.

On another note, my garden is producing cucumbers and onions so it is time to start a batch of sweet pickles.  Click here for the recipe. These were mixed up and they go right into the frig and will be stirred once a day for the next 5 days.  Then they go into pint jars and are put in the freezer, mmmm.  They stay crisp even after freezing.

Now it’s time to go visit the girls (chickens) and relax a bit.

Magical Evening – Stampin’ Up! Card

Hello there,

I love Whisper White images on dark backgrounds so I used that technique on today’s card.  The Whisper White ink really pops on the purple background and reminds me of magic for some reason.

Speaking of magic, last night I won the grand jackpot at Bingo so I came home $1000 richer.  For the last 2 years I just donate my money on Tuesday nights at the Bingo hall, but last night was magical!  I think I better play the lottery today.  :)

Sunny Window Stampin’ Up! Card

Hello There,

I’m back from Stampin’ Up’s Annual Convention which was held in Salt Lake City, UT.  What a blast!

The days were a whirl wind for me, each day more exciting than the last and time just flew by.

This convention was extra special for me since I was asked to present on the main stage.  This is something I will remember forever!

Here is a picture of me back stage just prior to presenting.  I’m smiling, but to tell you the truth I don’t even remember this photo being taken, lol.  My nerves were on high alert and I was just thinking, please don’t mess up, please don’t mess up, grin.  But I did make it out on stage and presented two times on Thursday.

Friday was even more incredible!  Awards night!

All the stars seemed to have aligned for me this year.  I received recognition for so much.  Founder’s Circle for the 4th time, which means I am one of the top 100 demonstrators and get to go on the all expense paid Founders Circle trip.  I also earned the Grand Vacation for the 5th time, this one to Hawaii! Woot Woot.  Recognition for reaching $300K career sales, reaching my 5 year mark as a demo, recruiting, achievers and leadership awards.  Folks, I could not have done any of this without you, my customers and my team.  I love you all my friends!

So now I am back home again and ready to start another Stampin’ Up! year.  I have so many new projects swimming around in this head of mine that I cannot wait to create and share them with you.  Thank you for letting me.

About today’s card, this is an indication on how my soul is feeling this morning, sunny and bright.  I created a window effect with my panels and a super warm scene using a new stamp set “Kinda Eclectic” and an older stamp set “Thoughts and Prayers”.

You can find the complete supply list below for this project and also how to the get the tutorial for this project free or by purchase below.

Nail Polish – Stampin’ Up! Card

Hello There,

I am currently on my way to the Stampin’ Up! Convention in Salt Lake City, Woot Woot!  I’m excited and a little nervous at the same time though.  I’ve been asked to be a presenter on stage this year.   Soooo fun!

Well while I’m off having a blast at convention I will have limited internet access.  So I set this post to go off in my absence.

This card is a great one for those hard to create for teen and preteen girls.  The nail polish bottles where created quickly with punches.  Wouldn’t this be a great gift with a manicure gift certificate inside.  :)   I think a women of any age would love that!

You can find the complete supply list below for this project and also how to the get the tutorial for this project free or by purchase below.
