This card looks like it has many layers, but it only has (2) two, the main image panel and the Blush Blossom Card.   Stay a moment with me and I will show you how this was all done.
Let&#8217;s get right to it.
Supplies:

Stamps: Stampin&#8217; Up Bloomin&#8217; Beautiful &#38; Baroque Motifs

<p>Started with a 4.75&#8243; square piece of Whisper White card stock and masked the bottom 1&#8243; of it with a post it note.</p>
<p><a href="http://zindorf.blogs.splitcoaststampers.com/files/2009/07/dsc09812.JPG" title="dsc09812.JPG"><img src="http://zindorf.blogs.splitcoaststampers.com/files/2009/07/dsc09812.JPG" alt="dsc09812.JPG" /></a></p>
<p><a href="http://zindorf.blogs.splitcoaststampers.com/files/2009/07/dsc09813.JPG" title="dsc09813.JPG"><img src="http://zindorf.blogs.splitcoaststampers.com/files/2009/07/dsc09813.JPG" alt="dsc09813.JPG" /></a></p>
<p>Stamped the flower twice at first loading my stamp with Versamark, Cameo Coral and tapped a bit of Old Olive on the stem area before stamping the image.</p>
<p><a href="http://zindorf.blogs.splitcoaststampers.com/files/2009/07/dsc09814.JPG" title="dsc09814.JPG"><img src="http://zindorf.blogs.splitcoaststampers.com/files/2009/07/dsc09814.JPG" alt="dsc09814.JPG" /></a></p>
<p>Heat embossed the flowers with clear embossing powder and a heat gun.</p>
<p><a href="http://zindorf.blogs.splitcoaststampers.com/files/2009/07/dsc09815.JPG" title="dsc09815.JPG"><img src="http://zindorf.blogs.splitcoaststampers.com/files/2009/07/dsc09815.JPG" alt="dsc09815.JPG" /></a></p>
<p>Added a bit of Blush Blossom marker to the flower heads.</p>
<p><a href="http://zindorf.blogs.splitcoaststampers.com/files/2009/07/dsc09817.JPG" title="dsc09817.JPG"><img src="http://zindorf.blogs.splitcoaststampers.com/files/2009/07/dsc09817.JPG" alt="dsc09817.JPG" /></a></p>
<p>Colored in the stems and leaves with a Sahara Sand marker.</p>
<p><a href="http://zindorf.blogs.splitcoaststampers.com/files/2009/07/dsc09818.JPG" title="dsc09818.JPG"><img src="http://zindorf.blogs.splitcoaststampers.com/files/2009/07/dsc09818.JPG" alt="dsc09818.JPG" /></a></p>
<p>Colored over the flowers and stems with a Versamark marker and then heat embossed the images with clear embossing powder.  If after heating your embossing looks pitted, go over it again with Versamark and clear embossing powder and heat again.  This second layer of embossing really protects the images from the ink we will be putting over them.</p>
<p><a href="http://zindorf.blogs.splitcoaststampers.com/files/2009/07/dsc09819.JPG" title="dsc09819.JPG"><img src="http://zindorf.blogs.splitcoaststampers.com/files/2009/07/dsc09819.JPG" alt="dsc09819.JPG" /></a></p>
<p><a href="http://zindorf.blogs.splitcoaststampers.com/files/2009/07/dsc09820.JPG" title="dsc09820.JPG"><img src="http://zindorf.blogs.splitcoaststampers.com/files/2009/07/dsc09820.JPG" alt="dsc09820.JPG" /></a></p>
<p>Yikes, I grabbed my inked up Versamark pad here instead of my clean one, which was my intention.  Oh well, gotta stick with it now that I stamped one of the flourishes with it.</p>
<p>Stamped flourished around the entire outside of the card stock with Versamark only.</p>
<p><a href="http://zindorf.blogs.splitcoaststampers.com/files/2009/07/dsc09821.JPG" title="dsc09821.JPG"><img src="http://zindorf.blogs.splitcoaststampers.com/files/2009/07/dsc09821.JPG" alt="dsc09821.JPG" /></a></p>
<p>Heat embossed the flourishes with clear embossing powder and a heat gun.</p>
<p><a href="http://zindorf.blogs.splitcoaststampers.com/files/2009/07/dsc09822.JPG" title="dsc09822.JPG"><img src="http://zindorf.blogs.splitcoaststampers.com/files/2009/07/dsc09822.JPG" alt="dsc09822.JPG" /></a></p>
<p>Sponged Sahara Sand ink all over the card stock.</p>
<p><a href="http://zindorf.blogs.splitcoaststampers.com/files/2009/07/dsc09823.JPG" title="dsc09823.JPG"><img src="http://zindorf.blogs.splitcoaststampers.com/files/2009/07/dsc09823.JPG" alt="dsc09823.JPG" /></a></p>
<p>Masked the center of the cardstock with a post it note.</p>
<p><a href="http://zindorf.blogs.splitcoaststampers.com/files/2009/07/dsc09824.JPG" title="dsc09824.JPG"><img src="http://zindorf.blogs.splitcoaststampers.com/files/2009/07/dsc09824.JPG" alt="dsc09824.JPG" /></a></p>
<p>Sponged Soft Suede ink around all over the unmasked portion of the card stock.</p>
<p>Can I say love this new In Color!  I will be getting some mileage out of this pad in the future.</p>
<p><a href="http://zindorf.blogs.splitcoaststampers.com/files/2009/07/dsc09825.JPG" title="dsc09825.JPG"><img src="http://zindorf.blogs.splitcoaststampers.com/files/2009/07/dsc09825.JPG" alt="dsc09825.JPG" /></a></p>
<p>Sponged Chocolate Chip ink around the outside edge of the card stock, not covering the Soft Suede ink entirely.</p>
<p><a href="http://zindorf.blogs.splitcoaststampers.com/files/2009/07/dsc09826.JPG" title="dsc09826.JPG"><img src="http://zindorf.blogs.splitcoaststampers.com/files/2009/07/dsc09826.JPG" alt="dsc09826.JPG" /></a></p>
<p>Unmasked the panel.</p>
<p><a href="http://zindorf.blogs.splitcoaststampers.com/files/2009/07/dsc09827.JPG" title="dsc09827.JPG"><img src="http://zindorf.blogs.splitcoaststampers.com/files/2009/07/dsc09827.JPG" alt="dsc09827.JPG" /></a></p>
<p>Sponged Soft Suede lightly over the edges of the previous masked area to soften them some.</p>
<p><a href="http://zindorf.blogs.splitcoaststampers.com/files/2009/07/dsc09828.JPG" title="dsc09828.JPG"><img src="http://zindorf.blogs.splitcoaststampers.com/files/2009/07/dsc09828.JPG" alt="dsc09828.JPG" /></a></p>
<p>I had a speck of something blue on my card stock so I decided to add the white gel pen dots to hide it.  <img src='http://zindorf.blogs.splitcoaststampers.com/wp-includes/images/smilies/icon_smile.gif' alt=':)' class='wp-smiley' /> </p>
<p><a href="http://zindorf.blogs.splitcoaststampers.com/files/2009/07/dsc09829.JPG" title="dsc09829.JPG"><img src="http://zindorf.blogs.splitcoaststampers.com/files/2009/07/dsc09829.JPG" alt="dsc09829.JPG" /></a></p>
<p>Extended the stems down to the masked line with an Old Olive marker.</p>
<p><a href="http://zindorf.blogs.splitcoaststampers.com/files/2009/07/dsc09830.JPG" title="dsc09830.JPG"><img src="http://zindorf.blogs.splitcoaststampers.com/files/2009/07/dsc09830.JPG" alt="dsc09830.JPG" /></a></p>
<p>Added a Shadow on the bottom and left side of the previous mask area to create a shadow using a ruler and a Soft Suede marker.  That&#8217;s right, for the first time Stampin&#8217; Up has put out markers to match their in colors this year, YEAHHHHHH!</p>
<p><a href="http://zindorf.blogs.splitcoaststampers.com/files/2009/07/dsc09831.JPG" title="dsc09831.JPG"><img src="http://zindorf.blogs.splitcoaststampers.com/files/2009/07/dsc09831.JPG" alt="dsc09831.JPG" /></a></p>
<p>This is a very easy step that adds so much.  <img src='http://zindorf.blogs.splitcoaststampers.com/wp-includes/images/smilies/icon_smile.gif' alt=':)' class='wp-smiley' /> </p>
<p><a href="http://zindorf.blogs.splitcoaststampers.com/files/2009/07/dsc09832.JPG" title="dsc09832.JPG"><img src="http://zindorf.blogs.splitcoaststampers.com/files/2009/07/dsc09832.JPG" alt="dsc09832.JPG" /></a></p>
<p>Oops!  I see that I missed a photo.  I used a Metallic Gold Sharpie Paint marker on the edge of the card stock to make it look like a gold card stock layer.</p>
<p>Adhered the main image panel to the Blush Blossom card.  Also added some gold cord.  Here it is assembled measuring 5.25&#8243; square.</p>
<p><a href="http://zindorf.blogs.splitcoaststampers.com/files/2009/07/dsc09834.JPG" title="dsc09834.JPG"><img src="http://zindorf.blogs.splitcoaststampers.com/files/2009/07/dsc09834.JPG" alt="dsc09834.JPG" /></a></p>
<p>I hope this tutorial has inspired you to create layers with your images and shadows.  Two layer cards are a lot lighter to mail.  :)  And look at all the card stock you could be saving.</p>
<p>May your day be layered with happiness.</p>
<p>Until my next post. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . </p>
<p>Huge Hugs,</p>

<p>Good afternoon to everyone out there in Blog land.  :)  During the summer months I struggle, dividing my time up between stamping and gardening.  I would be in a much better state of mind if I could just pick one or the other to do, but my heart is divided.  I can however stamp in a garden theme, like I did in today&#8217;s project.  This flower stamp in the Stampin&#8217; Up Set &#8220;Friends 24-7&#8243; reminds me of the frilly Babies Breath plant that I love to use as filler in bouquets.</p>
<p>My background was smeared on the card stock first and then over stamped with the images.   This is a very simple and fun project.</p>
<p>Let&#8217;s get started. . .</p>
<p><strong>Supplies:</strong></p>
<p><strong>Stamps:  </strong>Stampin&#8217; Up Friends 24-7</p>
<p><strong>Paper:  </strong>Stampin&#8217; Up Whisper White, Basic Black, Chocolate Chip &amp; Bordering Blue</p>
<p><strong>Ink:</strong>  Stampin&#8217; Up Basic Black, Chocolate Chip, Close to Cocoa, Bordering Blue &amp; More Mustard</p>
<p><strong>Accessories:</strong>   Stampin&#8217; Up Markers, White Gel Pen, Metallic Gold Sharpie Paint Marker, Sponge, Brown Ribbon, Gold Brads.</p>
<p><strong>Are you inspired by this Blog?  One way you can help support this blog is by ordering your Stampin’ Up products through me.   You can order from me 24-7 from this link:  </strong><a href="http://michellezindorf.stampinup.net/"><font color="#557799"><strong>http://michellezindorf.stampinup.net</strong></font></a><strong> or e-mail me at </strong><a href="mailto:mzindorf@aim.com"><font color="#557799"><strong>mzindorf@aim.com</strong></font></a><strong> if you are within the United States.  Want a copy of the current mini catalog, just e-mail me your address and I will pop one in the mail to you.  Want to become a Stampin’ Up Demonstrator and earn instant income?  Consider being part of my Stampin’ Up Team.</strong></p>
<p><a href="http://zindorf.blogs.splitcoaststampers.com/files/2009/07/dsc09811.JPG" title="dsc09811.JPG"><img src="http://zindorf.blogs.splitcoaststampers.com/files/2009/07/dsc09811.JPG" alt="dsc09811.JPG" /></a></p>
<p>Started off by smearing More Mustard ink on a 4&#8243; Square piece of Whisper White Card stock.</p>
<p><a href="http://zindorf.blogs.splitcoaststampers.com/files/2009/07/dsc09793.JPG" title="dsc09793.JPG"><img src="http://zindorf.blogs.splitcoaststampers.com/files/2009/07/dsc09793.JPG" alt="dsc09793.JPG" /></a></p>
<p>Smeared a bit of Bordering Blue ink on the card stock.</p>
<p><a href="http://zindorf.blogs.splitcoaststampers.com/files/2009/07/dsc09794.JPG" title="dsc09794.JPG"><img src="http://zindorf.blogs.splitcoaststampers.com/files/2009/07/dsc09794.JPG" alt="dsc09794.JPG" /></a></p>
<p>Stamped this flourish stamp with Bordering Blue ink twice on the right side of the card stock and then just the tip of it at the bottom left hand corner.</p>
<p><a href="http://zindorf.blogs.splitcoaststampers.com/files/2009/07/dsc09795.JPG" title="dsc09795.JPG"><img src="http://zindorf.blogs.splitcoaststampers.com/files/2009/07/dsc09795.JPG" alt="dsc09795.JPG" /></a></p>
<p>Stamped the flower stamp 3 times with Close to Cocoa ink.</p>
<p><a href="http://zindorf.blogs.splitcoaststampers.com/files/2009/07/dsc09796.JPG" title="dsc09796.JPG"><img src="http://zindorf.blogs.splitcoaststampers.com/files/2009/07/dsc09796.JPG" alt="dsc09796.JPG" /></a></p>
<p>Colored in the stems of the flower with Close to Cocoa marker and the leaves with Chocolate Chip marker.</p>
<p><a href="http://zindorf.blogs.splitcoaststampers.com/files/2009/07/dsc09797.JPG" title="dsc09797.JPG"><img src="http://zindorf.blogs.splitcoaststampers.com/files/2009/07/dsc09797.JPG" alt="dsc09797.JPG" /></a></p>
<p>Colored the flowers and buds in with a White Gel pen.  Also added white gel pen highlights to the tops of all the leaves.</p>
<p><a href="http://zindorf.blogs.splitcoaststampers.com/files/2009/07/dsc09798.JPG" title="dsc09798.JPG"><img src="http://zindorf.blogs.splitcoaststampers.com/files/2009/07/dsc09798.JPG" alt="dsc09798.JPG" /></a></p>
<p>Sponged Close to Cocoa ink around the outside edge.</p>
<p><a href="http://zindorf.blogs.splitcoaststampers.com/files/2009/07/dsc09799.JPG" title="dsc09799.JPG"><img src="http://zindorf.blogs.splitcoaststampers.com/files/2009/07/dsc09799.JPG" alt="dsc09799.JPG" /></a></p>
<p>Sponge Chocolate Chip ink around the outside edge, not covering all of the Close to Cocoa ink entirely.</p>
<p><a href="http://zindorf.blogs.splitcoaststampers.com/files/2009/07/dsc09800.JPG" title="dsc09800.JPG"><img src="http://zindorf.blogs.splitcoaststampers.com/files/2009/07/dsc09800.JPG" alt="dsc09800.JPG" /></a></p>
<p>Sponged Basic Black ink around the very outside edge of the card stock.</p>
<p><a href="http://zindorf.blogs.splitcoaststampers.com/files/2009/07/dsc09801.JPG" title="dsc09801.JPG"><img src="http://zindorf.blogs.splitcoaststampers.com/files/2009/07/dsc09801.JPG" alt="dsc09801.JPG" /></a></p>
<p>Used a Metallic Gold Sharpie paint marker and dragged it down the the edge of the card stock, holding the marker half on the card stock and half on the scrap paper.</p>
<p><a href="http://zindorf.blogs.splitcoaststampers.com/files/2009/07/dsc09802.JPG" title="dsc09802.JPG"><img src="http://zindorf.blogs.splitcoaststampers.com/files/2009/07/dsc09802.JPG" alt="dsc09802.JPG" /></a></p>
<p>Add More Mustard Marker to the center of some of the flowers.</p>

<p>Lounging in the yard last night gave me the inspiration to create a butterfly card.  I actually stayed up late last night, midnight to be exact, stamping this.  If you know me, you know that is way, way, way out of character for me.  I am an early to bed, early to rise person, so that must have been some inspirational force to make me stay up late.  I&#8217;m such a party animal, lol.</p>
<p>This tutorial is an example of what can be achieved with two layers of card stock.  :)  I know that 15 layers is the current fad, but it is nice not to have such a heavy card to mail, now and again.</p>
<p> <a href="http://zindorf.blogs.splitcoaststampers.com/files/2009/06/dsc09651.JPG" title="dsc09651.JPG"><img src="http://zindorf.blogs.splitcoaststampers.com/files/2009/06/dsc09651.thumbnail.JPG" alt="dsc09651.JPG" /></a>   <a href="http://zindorf.blogs.splitcoaststampers.com/files/2009/06/dsc09656.JPG" title="dsc09656.JPG"><img src="http://zindorf.blogs.splitcoaststampers.com/files/2009/06/dsc09656.thumbnail.JPG" alt="dsc09656.JPG" /></a>   <a href="http://zindorf.blogs.splitcoaststampers.com/files/2009/06/dsc09655.JPG" title="dsc09655.JPG"><img src="http://zindorf.blogs.splitcoaststampers.com/files/2009/06/dsc09655.thumbnail.JPG" alt="dsc09655.JPG" /></a></p>
<p>But before we get started I have some blog candy to award in the &#8220;Name that Bird&#8221; contest.  The bird now has a name.  It was extremely hard to pick one from all of the entries.  First, I made the long list.  Then I created the short list.  Then I actually had to pick a name and the winner is out of 398 entries. </p>
<p>Drum-roll, please. . . . . . . .  .. .  .. . . . . . . . . . .. . .. .</p>
<p><strong>Linda</strong> who wrote &#8220;<strong>Obviously, his/her color jumps right out off the page…The shade of blue reminds me of the Carribean…which leads to Buffet and Marley Music…which makes me think “Marley” would be an awesome name! Parrothead might not work, huh!? LOL Of course an Aqua Cosmo if one of my favorite drinks, so “Cosmo” might work too! HA&#8221;</strong></p>
<p>Linda, I have named my bird Marley!   I love the Buffet tye in.  :)   Linda, please e-mail your address to <a href="mailto:mzindorf@aim.com">mzindorf@aim.com</a> and I will pop these two stamp sets in the mail to you.</p>

<p>On a 4 7/8&#8243; piece of Whisper White card stock, stamped the butterfly by first loading my stamp with Versamark and then Basic Black ink before stamping it in the center of the card stock.</p>
<p>Sorry folks, this Stampin&#8217; Up set is retired and is no longer available, but you can you use any butterfly you have in your stamp collection for this project.</p>
<p><a href="http://zindorf.blogs.splitcoaststampers.com/files/2009/06/dsc09737.JPG" title="dsc09737.JPG"><img src="http://zindorf.blogs.splitcoaststampers.com/files/2009/06/dsc09737.JPG" alt="dsc09737.JPG" /></a></p>
<p>Heat embossed the butterfly using clear embossing powder and a heat gun.</p>
<p><a href="http://zindorf.blogs.splitcoaststampers.com/files/2009/06/dsc09738.JPG" title="dsc09738.JPG"><img src="http://zindorf.blogs.splitcoaststampers.com/files/2009/06/dsc09738.JPG" alt="dsc09738.JPG" /></a></p>
<p>Colored the Butterfly in with a Stampin&#8217; Up Apricot Appeal Marker.</p>
<p><a href="http://zindorf.blogs.splitcoaststampers.com/files/2009/06/dsc09739.JPG" title="dsc09739.JPG"><img src="http://zindorf.blogs.splitcoaststampers.com/files/2009/06/dsc09739.JPG" alt="dsc09739.JPG" /></a></p>
<p>Added some More Mustard marker to the butterfly.</p>
<p><a href="http://zindorf.blogs.splitcoaststampers.com/files/2009/06/dsc09741.JPG" title="dsc09741.JPG"><img src="http://zindorf.blogs.splitcoaststampers.com/files/2009/06/dsc09741.JPG" alt="dsc09741.JPG" /></a></p>
<p>Added Pumpkin Pie marker to the center of the butterfly&#8217;s wings.</p>
<p><a href="http://zindorf.blogs.splitcoaststampers.com/files/2009/06/dsc09742.JPG" title="dsc09742.JPG"><img src="http://zindorf.blogs.splitcoaststampers.com/files/2009/06/dsc09742.JPG" alt="dsc09742.JPG" /></a></p>
<p>Colored over the butterfly with a Versamark marker and then heat embossed the image using clear embossing powder and a heat gun.</p>
<p><a href="http://zindorf.blogs.splitcoaststampers.com/files/2009/06/dsc09743.JPG" title="dsc09743.JPG"><img src="http://zindorf.blogs.splitcoaststampers.com/files/2009/06/dsc09743.JPG" alt="dsc09743.JPG" /></a></p>

<p>Now I keep a pile of old circular mask.  This piece of card stock has a 3 1/8&#8243; circle cut out of it.</p>
<p>I placed this over the butterfly image and then drew squiggly lines around the inside of the mask with an Always Artichoke marker.</p>
<p><a href="http://zindorf.blogs.splitcoaststampers.com/files/2009/06/dsc09746.JPG" title="dsc09746.JPG"><img src="http://zindorf.blogs.splitcoaststampers.com/files/2009/06/dsc09746.JPG" alt="dsc09746.JPG" /></a></p>

<p>Outlined my card stock using a Metallic Gold Sharpie Paint marker, by holding the marker half on the card stock and half off the card stock and pulling straight down.  Repeat this for each side of the card stock.</p>

<p>Oh, I know, you come to my blog expecting to see a rubber stamping tutorial and then I go off the deep end a couple times a year and do a post on my gardens, lol.  Bare with me, a tutorial will be coming along after this post.    I know there are a couple of you that garden, along with rubber stamping and probably a couple hundred other crafts going on at the same time.  :) </p>
<p>I was just out in the garden this evening and decided to take a few photos.</p>
<p><a href="http://zindorf.blogs.splitcoaststampers.com/files/2009/06/dsc09724.JPG" title="dsc09724.JPG"><img src="http://zindorf.blogs.splitcoaststampers.com/files/2009/06/dsc09724.JPG" alt="dsc09724.JPG" /></a>    <a href="http://zindorf.blogs.splitcoaststampers.com/files/2009/06/dsc09726.JPG" title="dsc09726.JPG"><img src="http://zindorf.blogs.splitcoaststampers.com/files/2009/06/dsc09726.JPG" alt="dsc09726.JPG" /></a></p>
<p>I&#8217;m a &#8220;Country Cottage&#8221; gardener, without the cottage, lol.  I have a boring ranch home.  But my gardens are done in Country Cottage.  That means I plant perennials and they pretty much decide where they will grow from year to year.  I let everything go to seed in the fall and seeds get scattered throughout the garden and new plants spring up in the Spring where ever they want to.  Only occasionally will a move a plant.  I also will grow some veggies in my flower beds.  They don&#8217;t mind sharing the space and I love home grown tomatoes.  <img src='http://zindorf.blogs.splitcoaststampers.com/wp-includes/images/smilies/icon_smile.gif' alt=':)' class='wp-smiley' /> </p>
<p><a href="http://zindorf.blogs.splitcoaststampers.com/files/2009/06/dsc09727.JPG" title="dsc09727.JPG"><img src="http://zindorf.blogs.splitcoaststampers.com/files/2009/06/dsc09727.JPG" alt="dsc09727.JPG" /></a>   <a href="http://zindorf.blogs.splitcoaststampers.com/files/2009/06/dsc09728.JPG" title="dsc09728.JPG"><img src="http://zindorf.blogs.splitcoaststampers.com/files/2009/06/dsc09728.JPG" alt="dsc09728.JPG" /></a></p>
<p>I also grow plants that the butterflies love.  Above is a circular bed that is grown just for the butterflies.  With a butterfly house even.  I haven&#8217;t seen the butterflies use it yet, but I am hopeful.</p>
<p>Behind the circular bed is my favorite place to kick back and enjoy the gardens.  Below is the view of the farm across the road that I see from my favorite garden spot.  The barn in the photo below  is the one I painted in the fall and use for my banner at the top of my blog.  <img src='http://zindorf.blogs.splitcoaststampers.com/wp-includes/images/smilies/icon_smile.gif' alt=':)' class='wp-smiley' /> </p>
<p> <a href="http://zindorf.blogs.splitcoaststampers.com/files/2009/06/dsc09730.JPG" title="dsc09730.JPG"><img src="http://zindorf.blogs.splitcoaststampers.com/files/2009/06/dsc09730.JPG" alt="dsc09730.JPG" /></a>    <a href="http://zindorf.blogs.splitcoaststampers.com/files/2009/06/dsc09733.JPG" title="dsc09733.JPG"><img src="http://zindorf.blogs.splitcoaststampers.com/files/2009/06/dsc09733.JPG" alt="dsc09733.JPG" /></a></p>
<p>As you see below my gardens are so very full.  This happens every year with my perennials without me having to plant stuff.  I do fill a few pots with annuals, but my gardens are all perennials that come back year after year.</p>
<p><a href="http://zindorf.blogs.splitcoaststampers.com/files/2009/06/dsc09734.JPG" title="dsc09734.JPG"><img src="http://zindorf.blogs.splitcoaststampers.com/files/2009/06/dsc09734.JPG" alt="dsc09734.JPG" /></a>   <a href="http://zindorf.blogs.splitcoaststampers.com/files/2009/06/dsc09736.JPG" title="dsc09736.JPG"><img src="http://zindorf.blogs.splitcoaststampers.com/files/2009/06/dsc09736.JPG" alt="dsc09736.JPG" /></a></p>
<p>Come on over and sit a spell with me and have a martini or sweet tea.  But beware, I may put a shovel in your hand because I have yet to put in the large flower beds that will run the length of the front of the property.  <img src='http://zindorf.blogs.splitcoaststampers.com/wp-includes/images/smilies/icon_smile.gif' alt=':)' class='wp-smiley' /> </p>
<p><a href="http://zindorf.blogs.splitcoaststampers.com/files/2009/06/dsc09735.JPG" title="dsc09735.JPG"><img src="http://zindorf.blogs.splitcoaststampers.com/files/2009/06/dsc09735.JPG" alt="dsc09735.JPG" /></a></p>
<p>Thank you for indulging me and checking out a few of my garden photos.</p>
<p>Huge Hugs,</p>
<p>Michelle</p>

<p>When creating a wilderness card I reach for my Stampin&#8217; Up &#8220;Lovely As a Tree&#8221; set, time and time again.   Stampin&#8217; Up, if you are listening, please, please never retire this set. </p>
<p>Along with the &#8220;Lovely As a Tree&#8221; set I am using the Deer from the Stampin&#8217; Up &#8220;Nature Silhouettes&#8221; set.  Another great set for guy cards.</p>
<p>Lately, I have been stuck in a blue and green mode and I am purposely using other colors to switch things up a bit.  The bright More Mustard ink will wake you up a bit and bring the viewers eye into the scene and hold it a moment.</p>
<p>Ready, let&#8217;s get started. . . . . .</p>

<p></strong><a href="http://zindorf.blogs.splitcoaststampers.com/files/2009/06/dsc09691.JPG" title="dsc09691.JPG"><img src="http://zindorf.blogs.splitcoaststampers.com/files/2009/06/dsc09691.JPG" alt="dsc09691.JPG" /></a></p>
<p>Brayered More Mustard ink at the bottom of the card stock.</p>
<p><a href="http://zindorf.blogs.splitcoaststampers.com/files/2009/06/dsc09692.JPG" title="dsc09692.JPG"><img src="http://zindorf.blogs.splitcoaststampers.com/files/2009/06/dsc09692.JPG" alt="dsc09692.JPG" /></a></p>
<p>Stamped the trees with Going Gray ink.  I did not ink up the ground area on the stamp so it would be omitted when I stamped it.</p>
<p><a href="http://zindorf.blogs.splitcoaststampers.com/files/2009/06/dsc09693.JPG" title="dsc09693.JPG"><img src="http://zindorf.blogs.splitcoaststampers.com/files/2009/06/dsc09693.JPG" alt="dsc09693.JPG" /></a></p>
<p>Stamped the trees again with Going Gray.  First, I stamped off on my scrap paper, second generation stamping.  The lighter trees recess into the background creating depth in the scene.</p>
<p><a href="http://zindorf.blogs.splitcoaststampers.com/files/2009/06/dsc09694.JPG" title="dsc09694.JPG"><img src="http://zindorf.blogs.splitcoaststampers.com/files/2009/06/dsc09694.JPG" alt="dsc09694.JPG" /></a></p>
<p>Stamped the pine tree first with Old Olive ink and then over stamped it with Basic Black ink.</p>
<p>I did not ink the ground portion of the stamp when I over stamped in black.</p>
<p><a href="http://zindorf.blogs.splitcoaststampers.com/files/2009/06/dsc09697.JPG" title="dsc09697.JPG"><img src="http://zindorf.blogs.splitcoaststampers.com/files/2009/06/dsc09697.JPG" alt="dsc09697.JPG" /></a></p>
<p><a href="http://zindorf.blogs.splitcoaststampers.com/files/2009/06/dsc09698.JPG" title="dsc09698.JPG"><img src="http://zindorf.blogs.splitcoaststampers.com/files/2009/06/dsc09698.JPG" alt="dsc09698.JPG" /></a></p>
<p>I brought the background trees in a bit closer by stamping them again a bit lower with Basic Gray ink.</p>
<p><a href="http://zindorf.blogs.splitcoaststampers.com/files/2009/06/dsc09699.JPG" title="dsc09699.JPG"><img src="http://zindorf.blogs.splitcoaststampers.com/files/2009/06/dsc09699.JPG" alt="dsc09699.JPG" /></a></p>
<p>Stamped the deer with Basic Black ink.</p>
<p><a href="http://zindorf.blogs.splitcoaststampers.com/files/2009/06/dsc09700.JPG" title="dsc09700.JPG"><img src="http://zindorf.blogs.splitcoaststampers.com/files/2009/06/dsc09700.JPG" alt="dsc09700.JPG" /></a></p>
<p>Tore a hill in a post it note and sponged on Really Rust ink, right at the post it notes edge to create the hill on the card stock.</p>
<p><a href="http://zindorf.blogs.splitcoaststampers.com/files/2009/06/dsc09702.JPG" title="dsc09702.JPG"><img src="http://zindorf.blogs.splitcoaststampers.com/files/2009/06/dsc09702.JPG" alt="dsc09702.JPG" /></a></p>
<p>Moved the post it note and sponged really rust again at the post it note edge to create the second hill.</p>
<p><a href="http://zindorf.blogs.splitcoaststampers.com/files/2009/06/dsc09703.JPG" title="dsc09703.JPG"><img src="http://zindorf.blogs.splitcoaststampers.com/files/2009/06/dsc09703.JPG" alt="dsc09703.JPG" /></a></p>
<p>Sponged Basic Gray ink at the bass of the background trees.</p>
<p><a href="http://zindorf.blogs.splitcoaststampers.com/files/2009/06/dsc09704.JPG" title="dsc09704.JPG"><img src="http://zindorf.blogs.splitcoaststampers.com/files/2009/06/dsc09704.JPG" alt="dsc09704.JPG" /></a></p>
<p>Added white highlights to the pine tree and the deer with a white gel pen.</p>
<p><a href="http://zindorf.blogs.splitcoaststampers.com/files/2009/06/dsc09705.JPG" title="dsc09705.JPG"><img src="http://zindorf.blogs.splitcoaststampers.com/files/2009/06/dsc09705.JPG" alt="dsc09705.JPG" /></a></p>
<p>Streaked with a Sponged,  Really Rust ink at the bottom of the card stock.</p>
<p><a href="http://zindorf.blogs.splitcoaststampers.com/files/2009/06/dsc09706.JPG" title="dsc09706.JPG"><img src="http://zindorf.blogs.splitcoaststampers.com/files/2009/06/dsc09706.JPG" alt="dsc09706.JPG" /></a></p>
<p>Streaked Basic Black ink at the bottom of the card stock with a sponge and also sponged it around the outside edge of the card stock.</p>
<p><a href="http://zindorf.blogs.splitcoaststampers.com/files/2009/06/dsc09707.JPG" title="dsc09707.JPG"><img src="http://zindorf.blogs.splitcoaststampers.com/files/2009/06/dsc09707.JPG" alt="dsc09707.JPG" /></a></p>
<p>My highlights in the pine tree took on the look of snow so I decided to add some highlights with the white gel pen to the background trees too.</p>
<p><a href="http://zindorf.blogs.splitcoaststampers.com/files/2009/06/dsc09708.JPG" title="dsc09708.JPG"><img src="http://zindorf.blogs.splitcoaststampers.com/files/2009/06/dsc09708.JPG" alt="dsc09708.JPG" /></a></p>
<p>Assembled my card stock layers, Main image panel, Old Olive panel and Basic Black panel.  Took a Metallic Gold Sharpie Paint marker and pulled it down the edge of the Basic Black panel to jazz the card stock up a bit.  This gives you a look of a gold panel without the cost of gold card stock.</p>
<p><a href="http://zindorf.blogs.splitcoaststampers.com/files/2009/06/dsc09709.JPG" title="dsc09709.JPG"><img src="http://zindorf.blogs.splitcoaststampers.com/files/2009/06/dsc09709.JPG" alt="dsc09709.JPG" /></a></p>
<p>Punched the window punch twice out of Basic Black card stock and cut the ends off of one side of the punches.</p>
<p><a href="http://zindorf.blogs.splitcoaststampers.com/files/2009/06/dsc09710.JPG" title="dsc09710.JPG"><img src="http://zindorf.blogs.splitcoaststampers.com/files/2009/06/dsc09710.JPG" alt="dsc09710.JPG" /></a></p>
<p>Adhered the punches to the card front, added a couple of gold brads. </p>
<p>Here is the finished card measuring 5&#8243; x 6.5&#8243;.</p>
<p><a href="http://zindorf.blogs.splitcoaststampers.com/files/2009/06/dsc09711.JPG" title="dsc09711.JPG"><img src="http://zindorf.blogs.splitcoaststampers.com/files/2009/06/dsc09711.JPG" alt="dsc09711.JPG" /></a></p>
<p>I hope this tutorial has inspired you to get out of your color rut and try something different.</p>
<p>May your day be filled with peaceful moments.</p>
<p>Until my next post. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . </p>

<p>Good Morning, Good Morning, Good Morning!  I finally feel like I could catch my breath this morning and slooooowwww down to create a little something at a leisurely pace.    Sometimes the world just seems like it is going 100 miles an hour.   I try not to get caught up in the race, but it sneaks in sometimes anyway, lol.  We moved to the country 4 years ago to step back from things a bit and enjoy the slower pace.  I forget that now and then.</p>
<p>This mornings project hopefully reflects a peaceful scene, that was my intention anyway.</p>
<p>Let&#8217;s get started. . . . <img src='http://zindorf.blogs.splitcoaststampers.com/wp-includes/images/smilies/icon_smile.gif' alt=':)' class='wp-smiley' /> </p>
<p><strong>Supplies:</strong></p>
<table align="center" width="90%" cellPadding="6" cellSpacing="1" border="0">
<tr>
<td align="left"><font size="2"><strong>Stamps:</strong> Stampin&#8217; Up &#8220;Scene in the Garden&#8221; &amp; &#8220;Branch Out&#8221; </font></td>
</tr>
<tr>
<td align="left"><font size="2"><strong>Paper:</strong> Stampin&#8217; Up Old Olive Designer Paper, Whisper White &amp; Basic Black card stock </font></td>
</tr>
<tr>
<td align="left"><font size="2"><strong>Ink:</strong> Stampin&#8217; Up Basic Black, Sahara Sand, Old Olive, Always Artichoke &amp; Close to Cocoa </font></td>
</tr>
<tr>
<td align="left"><font size="2"><strong>Accessories:</strong> Versamark marker &amp; pad, Stampin&#8217; Up Markers, Old Olive Brads, Black Gingham Ribbon, White Gel Pen, Stamp-A-Ma-Jig, Post it Note, Clear embossing powder, Heat Gun, Sponge </font></td>
</tr>
</table>
<p><a href="http://zindorf.blogs.splitcoaststampers.com/files/2009/06/dsc09690.JPG" title="dsc09690.JPG"><img src="http://zindorf.blogs.splitcoaststampers.com/files/2009/06/dsc09690.JPG" alt="dsc09690.JPG" /></a></p>
<p>On a 3.5&#8243; x 4.25&#8243; piece of Whisper White card stock stamped the bench with Close to Cocoa ink.</p>
<p><a href="http://zindorf.blogs.splitcoaststampers.com/files/2009/06/dsc09657.JPG" title="dsc09657.JPG"><img src="http://zindorf.blogs.splitcoaststampers.com/files/2009/06/dsc09657.JPG" alt="dsc09657.JPG" /></a></p>
<p>Now this is what happens to your photographs when you accidentally hit the wrong button on your camera, your pictures go out of focus and you don&#8217;t realize it until you start to edit them.  <img src='http://zindorf.blogs.splitcoaststampers.com/wp-includes/images/smilies/icon_smile.gif' alt=':)' class='wp-smiley' /> </p>
<p>So there are no in focus photos for a few of these next steps, but I will walk you through it.</p>
<p>Colored the bench with a Creamy Caramel marker.</p>
<p>Colored the shadow areas on the legs of the bench with a Close to Cocoa marker.</p>
<p>Colored over the bench legs again to blend the shading with the Creamy Caramel Marker.</p>
<p>Colored over the bench with a Versamark marker and heat embossed the image with clear embossing powder and a heat gun.</p>
<p><a href="http://zindorf.blogs.splitcoaststampers.com/files/2009/06/dsc09658.JPG" title="dsc09658.JPG"><img src="http://zindorf.blogs.splitcoaststampers.com/files/2009/06/dsc09658.JPG" alt="dsc09658.JPG" /></a></p>
<p>Stamped the boots with Basic Black ink using a Stamp-a-ma-jig for placement.</p>
<p><a href="http://zindorf.blogs.splitcoaststampers.com/files/2009/06/dsc09663.JPG" title="dsc09663.JPG"><img src="http://zindorf.blogs.splitcoaststampers.com/files/2009/06/dsc09663.JPG" alt="dsc09663.JPG" /></a></p>
<p>Now we are back in focus, lol.</p>
<p>Colored the middle boots with an Old Olive marker.</p>
<p><a href="http://zindorf.blogs.splitcoaststampers.com/files/2009/06/dsc09665.JPG" title="dsc09665.JPG"><img src="http://zindorf.blogs.splitcoaststampers.com/files/2009/06/dsc09665.JPG" alt="dsc09665.JPG" /></a></p>
<p>Added Always Artichoke marker to the boots.</p>

<p>Added Bravo Burgundy marker to the boots.</p>
<p><a href="http://zindorf.blogs.splitcoaststampers.com/files/2009/06/dsc09670.JPG" title="dsc09670.JPG"><img src="http://zindorf.blogs.splitcoaststampers.com/files/2009/06/dsc09670.JPG" alt="dsc09670.JPG" /></a></p>
<p>Colored over the boots with a Versamark marker and heat embossed them using clear embossing powder and a heat gun.</p>
<p><a href="http://zindorf.blogs.splitcoaststampers.com/files/2009/06/dsc09671.JPG" title="dsc09671.JPG"><img src="http://zindorf.blogs.splitcoaststampers.com/files/2009/06/dsc09671.JPG" alt="dsc09671.JPG" /></a></p>
<p><a href="http://zindorf.blogs.splitcoaststampers.com/files/2009/06/dsc09672.JPG" title="dsc09672.JPG"><img src="http://zindorf.blogs.splitcoaststampers.com/files/2009/06/dsc09672.JPG" alt="dsc09672.JPG" /></a></p>
<p>Created a clap board wall behind the bench by using a post it note to mask and sponge at the edge of the post it note with Sahara Sand ink.  Moved the mask and repeated sponging over and over until my wall was built.  <img src='http://zindorf.blogs.splitcoaststampers.com/wp-includes/images/smilies/icon_smile.gif' alt=':)' class='wp-smiley' /> </p>
<p><a href="http://zindorf.blogs.splitcoaststampers.com/files/2009/06/dsc09673.JPG" title="dsc09673.JPG"><img src="http://zindorf.blogs.splitcoaststampers.com/files/2009/06/dsc09673.JPG" alt="dsc09673.JPG" /></a></p>
<p><a href="http://zindorf.blogs.splitcoaststampers.com/files/2009/06/dsc09674.JPG" title="dsc09674.JPG"><img src="http://zindorf.blogs.splitcoaststampers.com/files/2009/06/dsc09674.JPG" alt="dsc09674.JPG" /></a></p>
<p>Sponged in the ground with Old Olive ink.</p>
<p><a href="http://zindorf.blogs.splitcoaststampers.com/files/2009/06/dsc09676.JPG" title="dsc09676.JPG"><img src="http://zindorf.blogs.splitcoaststampers.com/files/2009/06/dsc09676.JPG" alt="dsc09676.JPG" /></a></p>

<p>Stamped the tree leaves by first loading the stamp with Versamark and then with Old Olive ink before stamping.  Heat embossed the image using clear embossing powder and a heat gun.</p>
<p><a href="http://zindorf.blogs.splitcoaststampers.com/files/2009/06/dsc09678.JPG" title="dsc09678.JPG"><img src="http://zindorf.blogs.splitcoaststampers.com/files/2009/06/dsc09678.JPG" alt="dsc09678.JPG" /></a> </p>

<p>Stamped the tree over the leaves using Close to Cocoa ink, omitting the grassy section of the stamp by not inking it.  Extended the trunk of the tree at the bottom using a Close to Cocoa marker.</p>
<p><a href="http://zindorf.blogs.splitcoaststampers.com/files/2009/06/dsc09680.JPG" title="dsc09680.JPG"><img src="http://zindorf.blogs.splitcoaststampers.com/files/2009/06/dsc09680.JPG" alt="dsc09680.JPG" /></a></p>

<p>This is my brand new Parakeet who will be keeping me company in my stamp room.   He doesn&#8217;t have a name yet.  My Husband, Russ suggested I make it a contest on my blog to name the little guy.  So here it is, leave a comment making a suggestion on what I should name my new bird.  I will pick the winning name and reward the person that suggested the name with two, that&#8217;s right two Stampin&#8217; Up sets, Botanical Blooms &amp; Yummy.</p>
<p><a href="http://zindorf.blogs.splitcoaststampers.com/files/2009/06/dsc09655.JPG" title="dsc09655.JPG"><img src="http://zindorf.blogs.splitcoaststampers.com/files/2009/06/dsc09655.JPG" alt="dsc09655.JPG" /></a>     <a href="http://zindorf.blogs.splitcoaststampers.com/files/2009/06/dsc09656.JPG" title="dsc09656.JPG"><img src="http://zindorf.blogs.splitcoaststampers.com/files/2009/06/dsc09656.JPG" alt="dsc09656.JPG" /></a></p>
<p>If you are getting this blog update by e-mail, you will need to click on this link to leave a comment:  <a href="http://zindorf.blogs.splitcoaststampers.com/2009/06/23/name-that-bird-contest-stampin-up-stamp-sets-prize/">http://zindorf.blogs.splitcoaststampers.com/2009/06/23/name-that-bird-contest-stampin-up-stamp-sets-prize/</a></p>
<p>A couple of things about the bird, he is a very young male Parakeet.  Prodominately &#8220;Tempting Turquoise&#8221; in color with a bit of Going Gray and Whisper White.  How is that for a description?   Do you talk in Stampin&#8217; Up colors too?  He will reside in my stamp room.</p>
<p>Now come on and get creative with the names.  I cannot wait to read them and I&#8217;m sure the bird would like a name, lol.  I will select the winning name on Friday, June 26, 2009. </p>
<p>Good luck everyone!</p>

<p>Here is the card completed measuring 4&#8243; x 9&#8243;.  I love this size card.  It fits in a regular #10 size business envelope, which are cheap to pick up at office supply stores.</p>

<p>This is the end of the tutorial, but hang out a moment and check out some of my photos from my Webster, NY  workshop photos.</p>
<p>My 8 hour trip by car from West Alexandria, Ohio to Webster, NY took me all the way through Ohio, then Pennsylvania and on into New York.  This was my first time to New York and I will definitely travel back there again if given the chance.  I found that upper New York looks very much like Wisconsin with all of it&#8217;s farms.  A very scenic area.</p>
<p>This first photo is my car all packed with workshop supplies, lol.  This does not include my personal luggage that still needs to be added.   Second photo is the workshop area in the process of being set up.  I love small workshops!  Too much fun getting to know everyone.</p>
<p><a href="http://zindorf.blogs.splitcoaststampers.com/files/2009/06/dsc09557.JPG" title="dsc09557.JPG"><img src="http://zindorf.blogs.splitcoaststampers.com/files/2009/06/dsc09557.JPG" alt="dsc09557.JPG" /></a>    <a href="http://zindorf.blogs.splitcoaststampers.com/files/2009/06/dsc09601.JPG" title="dsc09601.JPG"><img src="http://zindorf.blogs.splitcoaststampers.com/files/2009/06/dsc09601.JPG" alt="dsc09601.JPG" /></a></p>
<p>Now this is my two wonderful Webster, New York Hostesses , Gail Emmons on the left of me and Karen Wright on the right.  Love these ladies! </p>
