Rubbed the Crumb Cake ink pad directly on a 5″ square of First Edition DSP.

Rubbed the Whisper White Pad in the middle of the paper.

Sponged Cherry Cobbler ink around the edges of the paper.

Stamped the cupcake stamp on a scrap of the First Edition DSP and then cut out the icing part of the design and used it backwards.

Sponged Crumb Cake ink on around the edges.

Added Soft Suede ink around the very edge of the icing and the edge of the 5″ square.

Stamped the cup cake on Regal Rose card stock and then cut the cup cake paper out.

Distressed the edges of the cupcake paper by dragging it across the Soft Suede ink pad.

Punched 2 sizes of ovals out of Pool Party card stock.   Sponged Pool Party ink around the edges of the smaller oval.

Punched the cherry out of Regal Rose card stock using the cup cake punch.   Note:  I like the shape of the stamped cupcake better than the punched cupcake that is why I used it instead of just punching a cupcake out.  You may choose to do it the easy way, grin.

Colored the stem of the cherry using Basic Black marker and the the cherry using Cherry Cobbler marker.  I left a bit of the Regal Rose card stock showing for a highlight.

Cut the sentiment out of Basic Black card stock using Timeless Type Alphabet Dies and the Big Shot Machine.

Assembled the card front adding a 5.75″ square Basic Black panel, 5.5″ Regal Rose Panel, 5 1/8″ Pool Party Panel and Pool Party Ribbon.

Added some dots to the right and bottom sides of the Regal Rose card stock using the Mat Pack template for placement and a Basic Black marker.

Added a shadow under the cupcake and White Gel pen lines on the icing.

Added White Gel Pen dots to the sentiment.

Added Basic Black Brads to the ribbon using a piercing tool to start the brads.

Added Crystal effects to the cherry and the white gel pen lines to add some shine to the project.   (The crystal effects goes on looking milky but dries to a clear shine).

Added Blushing Bride marker underneath the icing  to create a shadow and some depth.

Here is the finished card measuring 6.75″ square.

May your day be perfectly sweet!

Until my next post. . . . .  . . .

Arrow Through The Heart – Tutorial #480 And The December Customer Gift Give Away

Happy New Year!!!   I hope your holiday was one to remember.   Mine was spent at home with Russ safe and sound in our little home.   We watched the ball go down in New York from our sofa here in Ohio.    I know, party animals, right, lol.

As I started the 1st day of this year, my mind went to the next holiday I will need cards for, Valentine’s Day.   Creating a Valentine’s Day card also gave me an excuse to give a little sneak peek of a couple of stamps you will find in the upcoming Stampin’ Up Occasions Mini Catalog from the stamp set P.S. I Love You.   Wonderful set and perfect to make cards for the one’s you love.

The tutorial below features a background made using plastic wrap and ink.  With a little masking you can also learn how to make an object recede in your scene.  Check out the heart.  It is not a cut out.   Team that heart with a cupid image and some white clouds and you have an out of this world Valentine.

FYI, The Stampin’ Up! Occasions Mini catalog will be in effect January 4 – April 30, 2012.   My current Stampin’ Up! customers will receive this mini catalog automatically from me.  If you would like an Occasions Mini Catalog, please e-mail your address to: [email protected] and I will get one in the mail to you.   You won’t want to miss out on the exceptionally wonderful things in this mini!   If you have ordered from me in the past year and have not received your mini catalog, please e-mail me.

Using the edge of a Peach Parfait ink pad, applied the ink in a swiping motion on a 3″ x 4.25″ piece of Whisper White card stock.

Using a crumpled up piece of plastic wrap, dabbed Cajun Craze ink on the card stock.

Applied Baja Breeze ink on the card stock using the crumpled plastic wrap.

Punched a heart out of the sticky part of a post it note and used it as a mask to create the heart.

Rubbed the Peach Parfait ink pad all over the card stock.

Sponged Cajun Craze ink around the edge of the heart mask.

Removed the heart mask.

Punched another heart from a post it note, this time from the center.  Put the negative piece on so the heart on the card stock shows through the post it note heart.  Sponge Tempting Turquoise around the edge of the heart shape.

Remove the mask and sponge Cherry Cobbler ink around the edge of the card stock.

Stamped the cupid stamp using Basic Black ink.

Added white gel pen to the cupids wings.

Sponged Whisper White ink on to create a cloud.

Added 2 Basic Black card stock panels and one Baja Breeze panel.   Stamped the sentiment using Whisper White ink.

Extended the cloud to the left side of the background panels.

Added Pumpkin Pie ribbon and Pumpkin Pie brads.

Here is the finished card measuring 5″ x 6.5″.

I love creating direct to paper projects using the Stampin’ Spots Ink pads.  They are so very easy to control for this type of work.

On a 4 3/8″ Square piece of Whisper White card stock, smeared the edge of the Bashful Blue ink spot across the card stock.

Smeared Certainly Celery ink across the card stock.

Smeared Old Olive ink across the card stock.

Smeared Baja Breeze ink across the card stock.

Smeared Marina Mist ink across the card stock from the right side only.

Smeared So Saffron ink across the card stock from the left side only.

Smeared More Mustard ink across the top of the card stock from the left side only.

Smeared Crumb Cake ink across the card stock at the bottom of the green area.

Stamped the branch twice using Early Espresso ink.

Stamped the leaves using Always Artichoke ink.

Stamped the bird using Basic Black ink on a separate piece of Whisper White card stock and then punched it out using the bird punch.

Adhered the bird to the card stock and added White Gel Pen highlights to the leaves and branches.

Added Basic Black marker shadows under the leaves and branches.

Added an Old Olive panel, Basic Black panel and a More Mustard panel.  Added Old Olive Striped Grosgrain ribbon and Basic Black brads.

I felt the card was a little out of balance so I added a strip of More Mustard and Marina Mist card stock under the ribbon.  Also added two leave punches from Old Olive card stock.

Added Basic Black and More Mustard marker to the punched leaves.

Added More Mustard marker to some of the leaves and to the bottom of the bird’s belly.  Also added So Saffron Marker to the bird’s belly.

Here is the completed card measuring 5″ x 6.5″.

May your day be filled with all of the people and things that you love.

Until my next post. . . .  . . . .

Hugs,

Michelle

Artsy Victorian Sneak Peek – Tutorial

dsc04463.JPG

I wanted to show in my tutorial today how you can use just one stamp and make something that is beautiful and dramatic.  Of course, it helps to start with a beautiful image.  This one is a Sneak Peek image from Innovative Stamp Creations soon to be released Stamp Sheet “Artsy Victorian”.  This set with be release on June 13, 2008.  Here is a link to their online store:  https://www.innovativestampcreations.com/ischomepage.html

Let’s get going on the tutorial.  🙂

Supplies:

Stamps: Innovative Stamp Creations – Artsy Victorian
Paper: Stampin’ UP Whisper White, Orchid Opulence & Basic Black
Ink: Stampin’ Up Basic Black, Orchid Opulence, Tempting Turquoise & Elegant Eggplant, Adirondack Purple Twilight
Accessories: Versamark pad and marker, clear embossing powder, Sponge, Stamp-a-ma-jig

dsc04466.JPG

Stamped flourish, at a diagonal,  on Whisper White card stock by first loading the stamp with Versamark then Tempting Turquoise before stamping.   Heat embossed the image using clear embossing powder and a heat gun.

dsc04451.JPG

I cropped the card stock at this point so the image would go all the way to the top and bottom of the card stock.

dsc04452.JPG

Colored the white card stock where it was showing through the  image with a Versamark marker and heat embossed it with clear embossing powder and a heat gun.  This step is necessary to retain the white in the image.

dsc04453.JPG

dsc04454.JPG

Using a Stamp-A-Ma-Jig for placement, over stamped the image with Purple Twilight ink just left of the original image to create a shadow.

dsc04455.JPG

dsc04456.JPG

Sponged Orchid Opulence in a circular motion all over the card stock.

dsc04457.JPG

Sponged Purple Twilight ink to the left side of the flourish using a circular motion.

dsc04458.JPG

Sponged Elegant Eggplant ink on the left side of the card stock, not completely covering the Purple Twilight ink.

dsc04459.JPG

Getting darker yet, sponged black ink at the left corners of the card stock.

Assembled card and here it is finished measuring 5.25″ x 5.25″.

dsc04463.JPG

Thanks so much for joining me today for this tutorial.  Give it a try.  I think you will be happy with the results.

Hope your day is on the light side of life. 🙂

Until my next post.. . . . . . .
