Hello Stampers,

On occasion I find myself in a creative rut.  When this happens I turn to the challenges on Splitcoaststampers.com to give me a creative lift.  Today I was in a ho hum mood when I sat down to create so I flipped over to the Splitcoast color challenge and low and behold there was my Stampin’ Up! Up Line, Karen Barber who gave out the color challenge this week.  I was so excited to play along with Karen and then I seen the colors. . . . . . . . . .

Old Olive and Crumb Cake I work with all the time but, Cherry Cobbler?  Cherry  Cobbler is a beautiful color but I only seem to use it at Christmas time.  So, this was a particularly hard color combo for me today but I think I pulled it off and managed to use a new technique for making a background forest to boot!

Thinking of You Kitty – Stampin’ Up! Card

Hello Stamper,

Creating a scene today with a very limited palette of colors, Gray and White.  Add a punch of Merry Merlot and it really sings!  Merry Merlot is such a rich color, almost regal, I love it.

As for the kitty in the scene, this would be a rare moment since cats don’t like to get their bottoms wet or anything else for that matter.  🙂  I know my Sadie wouldn’t want to set her royal behind on anything cold.  She uses my Stamp and Scrub as a throne to sit on instead of my cold desk, silly girl or maybe I should say smart girl!

Hello Stampers!

I cannot get enough of the Buffalo Check image for background layers these days.  I stamped the background panel today to match a flannel shirt I practically live in during the cold months.  I love the way it turned out so soft looking just like my soft flannel shirt.

I had fun creating my scene too, by using a couple of images from two different stamp sets, Waterfront and Seize the Day.  I know the Stampin’ Up! Holiday Catalog is in full swing right now but, don’t forget to check out the stamp sets in the large Stampin’ Up! Annual Catalog as well for your holiday crafting.  These two stamp sets are not classified as holiday stamp sets yet, make a wonderful Winter scene.  Great way to get even more use out of your stamp sets.

Midnight in the Meadow

Hello Stampers!

I’ve been finding many uses for the images in the Dashing Deer stamp set.  It is a lovely set for holiday cards but also, a wonderful set for year around as well.  The two smaller deer are super in scenes any season.  Nice to get more bang for your buck with a versatile stamp set, right?

I created a wonderful night sky for this Doe to do her grazing under.  I also challenged myself to use Coastal Cabana and Mossy Meadow together.  I found I really love this combo, it’s nice and fresh looking.  🙂
