Koi Pond Wet Look – Stampin’ Up! Card

Hello Stampers,

Can a card with a lily pond and koi fish get any more relaxing?  I loved making this one using the Stampin’ Up! All the Good Things Stamp Set.  Although, it was hard to photograph.  The scene in real life looks shiny and wet with the help of embossing powder.

I hope you give this project a try so you can see it in real life, it’s lovely.

In the Koi Pond

Hello there,

I pulled out a couple of pieces of plastic wrap to use in the making of this project today.  The plastic wrap technique gives such a painterly look.  I just knew the Koi Fish from the Stampin’ Up! All the Good Things set would work so well with the technique giving them that under water look.  Also, giving each fish a shadow helps with the look of a shallow pool.  🙂  What a fun project!

I used the curvy trunk bonsai tree in the beautiful new Stampin’ Up! set, All the Good Things.  Doesn’t it make a wonderful peaceful scene?

This is certainly one of my favorite new sets in the annual catalog.

Koi – Stampin’ Up! Card

Have you checked out the new Stampin’ Up! Stamp Set, All the Good Things?  It’s lovely!

The Koi Fish meaning in Japan is good fortune or luck, they also are associated with perseverance in adversity and strength of purpose.  These are all the things I wish for you my friends and my family.  Knowing the meaning behind the Koi Fish makes this set all the sweeter when you make cards with it, don’t you agree?

Let me show you in today’s tutorial just how you can get the bright colored fish in front of the dark background.  That really makes him stand out!  Plus, I really love the texture the Seaside Embossing Folder gives this card.  Embossing multiple layers of the project really melds things together.  It almost gives a quilted look to it.
