I love playing with color and the lack of color.  For instance, my scene today has places where I left the white of card stock to show through to create a misty look.  This is such an easy technique to use to add a lovely effect to your scenes.

Shapes and Angles – Stampin’ Up! Card

Hello Stampers,

Let’s play with some simple shapes today to make our scene a little more eye catching.  The triangle of water and the big round moon certainly draw the eye in.  I repeated the triangle shape with the Mossy Meadow triangle layers to pull the layout together.  🙂

You will also find I created a bit of depth with the trees by stamping them in different shades of green.  Lightest green in the background, medium green in the center ground and darkest in the foreground.

Black Ice Waterfront – Stampin’ Up! Card

Hi Stampers,

Today I was in the mood to stamp out a scene using the Stampin’ Up Waterfront stamp set, 146386 using the Black Ice Technique.   Here it is in all of it’s silver glory.   The black ice technique is simple but it gives you a great tin type look.  It also gives you wonderful shimmery water in your scenes.

This is one of those projects you just have do yourself because it looks 100 times better in real life.  Let me tell you it is hard to take a photo of a reflective object!
